    HOLMES, Jim…..

    Surrounded by his family on Monday, August 22, 2016 at the Dearness Home, after a long courageous battle with Parkinson’s disease, Jim Holmes in his 76th year. Beloved husband of Sandy (nee Mullins) Holmes for 52 years. Loving father of Rick Holmes (Linda); Lisa Holmes (Craig Chambers); Papa of Maeve, Sawyer, Leah and Jason. Proud great papa of Luca, Tenley and Lennon. Brother of Bob Holmes (Wynn) Ottawa; Ken Holmes (Judy) Arizona; Eric Holmes (Irene) Brantford; Sue May (Dan) Calgary.  Brother-in-law of Bev Barr (Frank). Predeceased by Marlene Keeler and Jack Holmes. Jim will also be missed by many nieces, nephews, cousins and faithful dog “Mr. Magoo”. Jim and Sandy owned Holmes and Associates for 28 years in London. Jim was an avid golfer and London Knights fan. Known for a great sense of humour – he was admired by his numerous friends that he appreciated and loved dearly. Friends and relatives will be received by the family on Sunday, August 28, 2016 from 2 -4pm and 7-9 pm at A Millard George Funeral Home, 60 Ridout Street South, London. The funeral service will be held in the funeral home chapel on Monday, August 29, 2016 at 11 am, with Reverend Paul G. Knauer officiating. Interment in Woodland Cemetery, London.     Peacefully at University Hospital, London, on Sunday, August 21, 2016, Ron Brewe in his 82nd year. Beloved husband of the late Kay (Bridgeman) Brewe (2009). Dear father of Jeff Brewe, Randy Brewe (Cathy) all of London and Stephannie Garbacz (Stephen) of St. Thomas. Proud grandfather of Chris Brewe (Jackie), Jennifer Brewe (Dan Harvey), and Danielle. Predeceased by his sister Jackie Brewe (2015). Cremation has taken place.  Friends will be received by the family on Wednesday, August 31, 2016, from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at the A.     On Friday, August 19, 2016, Eileen passed away with her daughter at her side, at Dearness Home in her 94th year. Loving mother of Tammy (Kerwin Butler) Reid, and the late Terry Hardy. Cherished grandmother of Julie (Bill) Sadler, Douglas (Paula) Reid, Jackie (Ryan) Kindree and Brian (Janet) Hardy. Great grandmother of Hallie, Abbey, Billy, McKay, Bella, Lexi, Gabby, Victoria, Brandon and Jake. Sadly missed by her daughter-in-law Rosemary Hardy, a niece, 2 nephews and extended family. Predeceased by her siblings Alberta and Sydney. Friends will be received at A. Dear mother of Pam (Jack) Eby, Ross (Julia) Gill and Rosemary (Peter) Damman Charlton. Much loved Grandma of Katie, Michael, Michelle, Merran, Chris and John. Remembered by many nieces and nephews.     DOIDGE, Archdeacon Jack….

    Peacefully at Parkwood Hospital, London, on Wednesday, August 17, 2016, Archdeacon Jack Doidge in his 101st year. Beloved husband of the late Betty (Mandell) Doidge for 65 years (2013). Loving father of Ian Doidge, Jane Doidge (Nick Notarangelo) and Kathy Elliott (Jim). Proud and loving Papa of Arden, Colin, Aislin, Kendra, Braeden and great-papa of Ryder and Emmy. Dearly missed by his nieces and nephews.  Also missed by Antonia and her daughter Aubria. Predeceased by his grand-daughter Kristen. Jack attended the University of Western Ontario – Huron College and was ordained in 1939.  He was a parish priest in London, Norwich, St. Catharines, Tillsonburg, Chatham, Winnipeg and Montreal.  Jack served as a Chaplain in the Canadian Advanced Infantry Core in WWII, and continued as a Chaplain until 1986. He was an active Rotarian Member and was involved in other organizations where his support and balanced insight were needed and valued. Jack enjoyed his summers at the family cottage on Lake Huron. He adored spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Cremation has taken place.  Friends will be received by the family on Wednesday, September 7, 2016, from 7-9 pm at the A. Millard George Funeral Home, 60 Ridout Street South, London. A memorial service will be conducted at St. James Westminster Anglican Church, 115 Askin Street, London, ON  N6C 1E7 on Thursday, September 8, 2016 at 2 pm, with The Right Reverend Robert F. Loving father of Susan Wolnik and her husband John, Paul Jackson and his wife Debbie, Craig Jackson and his wife Mary-Linda, Nancy Scanlan and her husband Kevin. Proud grandfather of Karen (Chris) , Joanne (Andrius), Lauren (Dave), Kyle (Eryn), Katelyn, Jessica (Shemer), Rebecca, Kirk (Anja), Chad (Stephanie) and great-grandpa of Blythe, Liam, Leora, and Andres. Dear brother of Dorothy Moore and her husband Harold. Cherished friend of Paulina McCormick. Also missed by his many nieces and nephews.  Bernie was a proud Teacher and Principal, who influenced and guided many students and staff.
