Loving father of Stephen (Sarah) of Toronto, Patricia (Leah) of Hamilton, Christopher of Toronto and Matthew (Michelle) of Ottawa. Cherished grandfather of Maren, Lily and Darwin. Loving son of Win Miller of Chatham and the late Bill Miller. Dear brother of Paul (Janeen) of Toronto. Peter was a respected journalist for 44 years employed at the London Free Press, The Globe and Mail and The Windsor Star. In retirement, he enjoyed volunteering at Central Library bookstore. He was fiercely loyal to everyone and everything he cared about. Friends will be received by the family from 7-9 pm on Wednesday, May 16,2012 at the A. Cherished mother of Dawn Skinner and Doreen Hobbs (Karen Quantz) all of Waterloo. Loving grandmother of Henry, Jason, Samantha, Meg, Jordan, and Katie. Dear sister of Rick Abel (Sharon), Harvey Abel (Dale) and Susan Allison (Gary). Also missed by many relatives and friends. Loving father of Paul Newman and his wife Patti of London, Jeffery Newman and his wife Wendy of Port Franks and (Debbie). Also missed by his grandchildren Jennifer Newman and her partner Dan Soave, Daniel Newman, Sarah Stevenson and her husband Jeff, Kari Newman and her partner Kyle Vankessel, Jeremy Emery and Jordan Emery and by his great-grandchildren Mathew Elston-Newman, Mikaela Newman and Rocco Soave. Predeceased by many brothers and sisters. He was a Detective Sergeant for 35 years with the London Police Force, member of Centennial Lodge No. 684 A.F. and A.M., a Kiwanis member, Salvation Army volunteer and a member of Wolseley Barracks Sergeant’s Mess. Cherished father of Dave Schlarbaum and his wife Helen of Calgary, Alberta, Ruth Blick and her husband Rich of Traverse City, Michigan, and John Schlarbaum of Amherstburg. Loving grandpa of Justin Schlarbaum (Lyndsay), Jennifer Schlarbaum, and Bryce Blick. Predeceased by his sisters Dorothy Brosowski and Marjorie Perrin. For the past 5 years Helen lived at Eden Place Retirement Home, Belleville, Ontario.
