Peacefully at McGarrell Place, London, on Friday, December 18, 2015. Patricia (Kilby) Newton in her 98th year. Beloved wife of the late Ralph Newton and the late Cecil Spicer. Cherished mother of the late Rodney Spicer. Proud grandmother of Richard Spicer (Melanie), Christopher Spicer (Chantal) and great-grandmother to Kaitlyn, Keira, Ava and Stella. Dear sister of Iris Blais (Royal). Also survived by her daughter-in-law Judith Gillespie. Predeceased by her sisters Wilda Andre, Florence Jackson and Gladys Yanosick. A memorial service will be conducted in the chapel at the A. Millard George Funeral Home, 60 Ridout Street South, on Tuesday, December 22, 2015 at 1pm. Peacefully at McGarrell Place, London, on Tuesday, December 15, 2015, Shirley June (Blewett) Sanderson in her 90th year. Beloved wife of the late Norman Sanderson (2009). Cherished mother of Karen Dickie and her husband John. Loving grandma of Ben and Gloria. Dearly missed by her niece Noreen Bradfield and her husband Ken, and her sons Tim and Andy. June enjoyed spending time with her family, baking and crafts. She lived with Parkinson’s disease for 33 years and through her determination overcame many obstacles. The family would like to thank McGarrell Place staff for their support, compassion and friendship over the past 10 years. A private graveside service was held at Mount Pleasant Cemetery, London, officiated by Reverend Kenji Marui and Mrs. Elizabeth Parsons. Suddenly with her family by her side on Sunday, December 13, 2015 at University Hospital, London, Bernice (Myatt) Chafee in her 88th year. Beloved wife of the late James “Ed” Chafee (2003). Cherished mother of William (Victoria) Chafee, Allan (Jo-Ann) Chafee, Donna (Bob) McAuley. Proud grandmother of Shalo, Beau (Cara), Rob (Danielle) and great-grandmother to Bronson, Callum, Leland and Blake. Dear sister of Bob Myatt (late Dorothy), Marion Olmstead (late Bob), Irene Jefferies and Ted Myatt. Also survived by her brother-in-law Harold Marshall and sister-in-law Judy Myatt. Predeceased by her brother Jim Myatt and sister Dorothy Marshall. Bernice will greatly missed by her extended family and friends. Cremation has taken place. Peacefully at St. Thomas Hospital, on Wednesday, December 9, 2015, local London photographer Andre Nufer, passed in his 80th year. Beloved husband of the late Judy Nufer (1996). Proud and loving father of Kaila Gottschling (Mark) and Nick Nufer (Dionne). Cherished Grandaddy of Mason, Hope and Trenton. Dear brother of Wendell Nufer, Beatrice Yasayko and their families. Andre was a photography Professor at Fanshawe College for many years. Cremation has taken place. Friends will be received by the family from 7-9 p.m. on Monday, December 14, 2015, at the A. Loving mother of Rick (Ruth), Ted, and Perry (Maxine). Cherished grandma of 8 and great-grandma of 11. Sadly missed by her brother Jim Davis, and by her nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her brother William (Red) (1993). Times with family and friends were always fondly remembered. Doreen (Nee Smith) Gibbs, 85 of London, Passed away peacefully on December 4, 2015 after a courageous battle with cancer. Her devoted husband of 66 years John “Red” Gibbs by her side. Doreen formally of Kingston, daughter to Iva Snider and William Smith. She grew up with a large family of brothers and sisters. Doreen moved to London where she met the love of her life whom she married on December 26th, 1949. Cherished mother of Brian (Julia), Ron (Christine), Randy (JoAnne), Paul (Bev), David (Carol), Jeff (Laurie), and Chris (Sonya). Proud grandmother of Stephen (Jamie), Laurie (Mark), Pat (Christa), Katie (Matt), Brandon, Mike (Chelsey), Matt (Kse), Nathan, Melany (Daryl), Lindsey (Trevor), Jennifer (Aaron) and 8 great-grandchildren. Doreen will be remembered and missed by her family and friends. Doreen lived life for Red and their 7 boys. Although being outnumbered by men, she was truly feminine at heart with an eye for beauty and a love of the ornate. An extraordinary baker, cook, gardener and decorator she always put her family first. Her strength, loyalty, love and compassion for those in need will forever live on in the hearts of her family. In keeping with Doreen’s wishes a private family interment has taken place in Woodland Cemetery, London. Suddenly at Parkwood Hospital, London, on Thursday, December 3, 2015, Alan Ballett of London in his 66th year. Dear son of the late Barbara (Kempton) and Frederick Ballett. Loving brother of Anne Kupery of London. Cherished uncle of Dianne Kupery (George Small) of Dundas and Jason Kupery (Maria) of Cochrane, AB. Proud great- uncle of Galen and Everett Small and Sadie and Jude Kupery. Alan coached minor league hockey in Woodstock for many years. He was involved with the Ontario Weightlifting Association, serving as a Past President and as an International Judge. Alan was an avid fan of the Buffalo Bills and passionately believed in their Super Bowl quest. A Celebration of Life will be held at the A.
