    GELEYNSE, Lena ….. Peacefully, surrounded by family at Mount Hope Centre for Long-term Care London, Lena Geleynse passed away on Monday, September 26, 2016 in her 75th year. Beloved wife of Michael Pardy and the late Benjamin Geleynse (2002). Dear mother of Donna and husband David Van Helvoort, Steven and wife Marianne, Ian and wife Lesley. Proud Grandmother of Michael and wife Stephanie, Joshua, Andrew, Mark, Megan, Adam and Willem. Adoring Great-Oma of Leah, Benjamin and Elise. Dear sister of Oekie and husband Vic Mueller, Urb and wife Jan Buwalda and Doug and wife Marg Buwalda. Remembered by her brother-in-laws and sister-in-laws and many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her son Michael and her parents Fred and Evelyn Buwalda. Lena was a long-time member of the Young at Heart Singers of the Boys and Girls Club. Lena was an active participant in various organizations and hobbies, including rug-hooking. A special thank you to the staff of the fourth and fifth floor at Marian Villa and the first floor Palliative Care staff of St. Mary’s. Friends will be received by the family from 9-11 am on Saturday, October 1, 2016 at Talbot Street Church, 513 Talbot Street, London, where the funeral service will be held at 11 am. Cremation has taken place. Private interment in Elmdale Cemetery, St. Thomas, at a later date.     DEMARAY, Bob….

    Peacefully at Alexandra Hospital, Ingersoll on Sunday, September 25th, 2016 Mr. Robert J. Demaray of Dorchester in his 88th year. Beloved husband of the late Willa Demaray. Dear father of Philip (Debbie), Mark, Paul, and Gord. Also loved by his grandson Andrew (Melissa) and his brother Max (Kay) and many nieces and nephews. Bob was a life member and past Master of the St. John’s #20 Masonic Lodge. He also was a past president and honorary life member of the Land Improvement Contractors of Ontario. Cremation has taken place. A private family graveside service will be held  in Dorchester Union Cemetery, Dorchester. A Celebration of Life will be held at Demaray Shop on Saturday, October 1, 2016 from 1-4pm. In lieu of flowers, an expression of sympathy may be made to the charity of your choice. A.     King, Jamie……

    Passed away suddenly at home, on Friday, September 23, 2016, at the age of 50. Loving son of Mary-Jo and Ross King. Much loved brother of Philip, David (Lynda), and Stephen (Christine). Cherished uncle of Elyse, Lauren, Owen and Abby. Sadly missed by his aunt Brenda Waldie. Jamie will be fondly remembered for his love of laughter, his zeal and endless energy for working hard when cutting the grass, painting, shovelling snow or whatever task he took on. He knew the city of London as well as anyone from riding his bicycle end to end for many years and enjoyed long conversations with family, friends, and anyone new he would meet from day to day.   A Graveside service will be held on Saturday, October 1, 2016 at 9:30 am at Mount Pleasant Cemetery, London.  Memorial donations in Jamie’s name may be made to the Diabetes Association 442 Adelaide Street North, London, ON N6B 3H8.  Arrangements entrusted to A.     MOOGK, George…
    Peacefully, surrounded by family and friends at University Hospital, London, George Moogk passed away at the age of 65. Proud and supportive dad of Katie, Geordan and Andy. Beloved brother of Janet (Rich) Prophet and Deborah Hall. Remarkable best friend of Cindy Coffey and “big brother” of Chris Burke and Steve Berry. George was a gifted artist and made significant contributions as a Medical Illustrator at University Hospital. George served many years with Scouts Canada, specifically the 29th Beaver and Cub’s group. Friends will be received by the family from 1- 2 pm on Thursday, September 29, 2016 at the A.     Peacefully surrounded by his family at Chartwell London, on Wednesday, September 21, 2016, Jim Hanna of London in his 85th year. Beloved husband of the late Phyllis (Taylor) Hanna (1998). Loving father of Jill Cameron (David) of Waterloo and Jim Hanna (Lynda) of Parry Sound. Cherished “Grump” of James, Bobbi (Mark), Samantha (Mike), Mackenzie (Brian), and “Great Grump” of Eli, Abby, Wyatt, and Reese.  Dear brother of John Hanna and the late Norma Hollyer. Special friend of Shirley Houghton. The family is thankful to the staff at Chartwell for their wonderful care and compassion. Jim was a proud member of the Masonic Lodge, he was Past Master of St. John’s Lodge No. 20 A.F. & A.M., and a 33rd Degree Honourary Inspector General of the Supreme Council. Jim was a longtime member of Richards Memorial United Church. Cremation has taken place. Friends will be received by the family from 2-4 and 7-9 pm on Sunday, September 25, 2016 at the A.     It is with broken hearts that we announce the passing of Vera (Barlow) Turvey, on Tuesday, September 20, 2016 in her 91st year.  Wife and best friend of the late William “Bill” Turvey. Daughter Vera (Al) will dearly miss Mom’s great sense of humor and her feisty personality. Cherished Grandma and loved by her grandchildren Bill (Nicky), Brent (Stef) and Michael. Grandma would always brag about her “boys” and enjoyed being part of their lives. Grandma was so excited to meet Brent & Stef’s daughter, Emelie, her only great grandchild.  Predeceased by her brothers, sisters, and her dear friends.   • Janet Axford

    AXFORD, Janet….

    Janet Axford (Gough) in her 74th year, on Saturday September 17, 2016 passed peacefully into the arms of her Saviour. Janet is survived by her soulmate and best friend, Edward, husband of 54 years. She will be so dearly missed by her three sons and special daughters (in-law), Dan (Christine), Randy (Jody) and Ron. Janet was an incredible Grandma who was and will continue to be a loving guiding force in the lives of her grandchildren Kaitlyn, Kayleigh, Amelia, Dominique, James and Samantha. Expectant Great -Grandmother to Cohen. Janet is eternally grateful to her siblings, Eugene Gough(Marion), Ron Gough (Bernice), Phyllis Grass(Bruce),  her in-laws Terry Axford(Margaret) and Ruth Axford as well as her large extended family for their love and unending support on her journey. Janet and her family also wish to thank the medical teams and all the incredible staff at the London Cancer Clinic, Victoria Hospital and especially the angels at the St Joseph’s Hospice. In Janet’s own words, “how blessed I am to have lived this journey and had such incredible family and friends and co-workers.”  She is now at rest with her Lord. Friends will be received by the family on Thursday, September 22, 2016 from 11:00 am – 1:00 pm at Westview Baptist Church, 1000 Wonderland Road South, London where the funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 pm.   • Johanna “Scholzie” Scholze

    Johanna “Scholzie” Scholze….                  

    On September 15, 2016 at Arbor Trace Special Care Center, London, Ontario Johanna  “Scholzie” departed this world on the wings of angels. Born in Friedland, Germany, Johanna immigrated to Canada in 1956 to join her sister and family in Seaforth, Ontario. She became a Registered Nursing Assistant and lovingly cared for her patients at the old Victoria Hospital for many years. In 1981, she retired as a Cardiology Technician, having taken ECG  measures of many a heart with her warm smile and gentle humour. Beloved sister of Gerda (Scholze) Uderstadt; predeceased by dear brother-in-law Henry Uderstadt (2006); dearest Tante Hanni to Christel and Bob Morton, Gerd and Ketty Uderstadt, Axel Uderstadt and Helen Scott, as well as to seven grand-nieces and nephews and their families, including 12 great-grand nephews. Johanna was a friend and helpmate to many. She is fondly remembered as a loyal, compassionate and courageous woman with an adventurous spirit and a generous heart.  We love her and miss her. We will honour her memory by doing a Random Act of Kindness whenever we can, thus following her excellent example. We are most thankful to everyone at Arbor Trace where our aunt received outstanding care and support and where she was honored with a birthday party when she reached her goal of making it to 100.  Visitation will be held from 12pm-1pm at A. Millard George Funeral Home, 60 Ridout Street South, London, on Tuesday, September 20, 2016 where the funeral service will be at 1pm.  Pastor Al Roberts of First Baptist Church officiating.
