HANNA, Jim….
Peacefully surrounded by his family at Chartwell London, on Wednesday, September 21, 2016, Jim Hanna of London in his 85th year. Beloved husband of the late Phyllis (Taylor) Hanna (1998). Loving father of Jill Cameron (David) of Waterloo and Jim Hanna (Lynda) of Parry Sound. Cherished “Grump” of James, Bobbi (Mark), Samantha (Mike), Mackenzie (Brian), and “Great Grump” of Eli, Abby, Wyatt, and Reese. Dear brother of John Hanna and the late Norma Hollyer. Special friend of Shirley Houghton. The family is thankful to the staff at Chartwell for their wonderful care and compassion. Jim was a proud member of the Masonic Lodge, he was Past Master of St. John’s Lodge No. 20 A.F. & A.M., and a 33rd Degree Honourary Inspector General of the Supreme Council. Jim was a longtime member of Richards Memorial United Church. Cremation has taken place. Friends will be received by the family from 2-4 and 7-9 pm on Sunday, September 25, 2016 at the A. Millard George Funeral Home, 60 Ridout Street South, London. The memorial service will be held in the funeral home chapel on Monday, September 26, 2016 at 11 am. Private interment in Greenwood Cemetery, Owen Sound. A Masonic Service under the auspices of St. John’s Lodge No. 20 A.F. & A.M. will be conducted at the funeral home on Sunday evening at 6:30 pm. My sympathy to Jim’s family and Shirley. As members of the Irish Benevolent Society for several yrs we co-chaired IBS St Pat’s Day tickets and established the Leprechaun Awards. Good times with a great guy. R.I.P
So sorry to hear about the passing of Jim. I have so many great memories of him from my childhood. Heaven has gained a beautiful soul.
