Survived by her grandchildren Scott Jakobsen, Mark Jakobsen and his wife Heather and Kirsten Conaghan and her husband Mike. Dear great grandmother of Kyle and Johnathan Conaghan. Dorothy Margaret (Crozier) Wray
Wray, Dorothy Margaret (Crozier),
Dorothy’s family sadly announces the death of their beloved mother in London, Ontario, on Easter Sunday, March 23, 2008, in her 84th year. Finally at peace after a long battle with Alzheimer’s disease, Dorothy was born in Croydon, England, the eldest child of Frederick and Dorothy Crozier. She married Wilbert Wray (4th Field Ambulance) in 1941 and came to Fort William, Ontario in 1944 with son Don. She worked at Can-Car for the remainder of the war years and later at Sears Canada. She is survived by sons Don (Lynda), Barry (Geri) of Toronto, Bruce (Carole) of London, Ontario and daughter, Debbie (Alex) of St. Albert, Alberta. Loving grandmother of Donna, Lisa and David Wray, Christopher, Kelly and Corey Wray, Michael and Elizabeth Wray and Christopher and Amy Wowk. She is also survived by 9 great grandchildren and by sisters in England. She was predeceased by husband Wilbert in 1999, her parents, brothers Fred (England), Dougie and sister Jean (Australia), mother-in-law, Elizabeth Wray and brother-in-law, Albert. She will be sadly missed by her dear and close friend, Kath Duffield and the other surviving ‘British War Brides’ still residing in Thunder Bay. Cremation has taken place. A celebration of Dorothy’s life will be held at a later date in Thunder Bay. Details to follow.
