Also loved by great nieces and great nephews Megan, Rebecca, Kate, Spencer, Tanner, Tyler and Audrey. Sorely missed by her relatives in Scotland and many close friends. Betty was very active in Elmwood Avenue Presbyterian Church, Elmwood Avenue Lawn Bowling and the Cherryhill Seniors Community. Joseph Michael Nelligan

Always our hero
Peacefully surrounded by his loving family and after a heroic battle following surgery in January, Joseph Michael Nelligan passed away on March 15, 2008, in his 88th year. Predeceased by his beloved wife of 51 years, Pauline (1997), his dear parents David and Charlotte, brothers Leo, Vern, George and sisters Marcella and Mary. He is survived by his devoted daughter Mary-Michelle, loving grandchildren Ashleigh and her fiancé Jeff, Joseph, Matt and his fiancée Meagan, great-grandchildren Ryan and Ethan, siblings Margaret, Anne, Bill and Isabel, stepson Fred Linn and his wife Doris and numerous nieces and nephews. Joe deeply loved his family.
Joe signed up for the Armed Forces in 1941 and served with great distinction as a bombadier in the RCAF, 408 Squadron flying in a Lancaster bomber. After the war, he graduated from UWO with a BA and then Carleton University with a degree in Journalism. He pursued a very successful career in public relations working for Trans Canada Airlines (Air Canada) and Eaton’s. His family is tremendously proud of his war record, his career in business and his life in general. A devoted family man, Joe liked nothing better than relaxing at home surrounded by his family. He loved family trips, the Tiger Cats and the Stratford Festival and was a patriotic Canadian, closely following politics. His kind and generous nature and his twinkling blue eyes will be very sadly missed by family, friends and his faithful canine friend, Conor.
A family service will be held at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, Stoney Creek, on March 19 at 10:00am. His ashes and those of Pauline will be scattered together at a favourite family place in Haliburton. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made at the SPCA Hamilton/Burlington.Dad, we shall meet again.

On Friday, March 14, 2008 at McCormick Home, London. Minnie Marguerite (Bryan) Adams 97. Reunited in heaven with her husband Fred (1993). Devoted mother of Fred Adams (Loretta). Cherished grandmother of Scott Adams (Linda) of Calgary, Craig Adams (Mary) of London and Paula Adams of Banff, AB. Great-grandmother of Amy, Michelle, Jeffrey and Sarah. Minnie was an active member of Centennial United Church for over 50 years, enjoying many years working with the U.C.W. She continued to do volunteer work into her 92nd year, visiting people in nursing homes and hospitals. Minnie will be sadly missed by her family and friends. Our deep appreciation to the staff of Maple Grove Wing at McCormick Home for the loving care of our dear mother and grandmother. You are all very special, we will be forever grateful. Douglas Simpson and the late Gordon Clark. Dearly loved mother of Dawn (Mike) and David (Edie). Devoted grandmother to Devon, Shelley, Danielle, Sean and Julie and great-grandmother to Brent. Fondly remembered by Gaby Peacock and the Clark and Noyle families. An admired and inspiring mother, grandmother, aunt and friend, she will be forever missed and cherished in our hearts. Dorothy pursued her chosen career as wife, mother and grandmother with kindness and enthusiasm. Her fun-loving spirit will remain with us forever.
