At Chelsey Park Long Term Care in London on Monday, March 3, 2008, Nora Isabelle (Kennedy) Forsyth of London in her 83rd year. Beloved wife of Clair Alexander “Alex” Forsyth. Dear mother of Michael Forsyth and his wife Linda and Wendy Forsyth both of London. Also loved by her grandchildren Matthew Forsyth and Michael Forsyth. Predeceased by her sister Jean and her brothers Ernest, Edwin and Douglas Kennedy. The family will receive friends one hour prior to a memorial service which will be held in the chapel of the A. Millard George Funeral Home, 60 Ridout Street South, London, on Thursday, March 6, 2008 at 1:00 pm. Interment of cremated remains in Woodland Cemetery. Peacefully surrounded by his family at the London Health Sciences Centre – University Hospital, on Sunday, March 2, 2008, David Pringle Knight of Tillsonburg in his 82nd year. Beloved husband of the late Eileen (Thompson) Knight. Special friend of Pearl Lovett of Florida. Proud father of Robert “Bob” Knight of Toronto, Graham Knight and his wife Angelika of Oakville, Steven Knight and his wife Dot of Burlington and Andy Knight of Vancouver. Loving grandfather of Erin, Brandon, Jennifer, Ryan (JeniLee), Gillian and Davey. Dave worked for Dupont Canada and was a Proud member of AA for 31 years. At his request his body was donated to The University of Western Ontario, so that research and teaching could be performed. A celebration of Dave’s life will be held at Hickory Hills in the Recreation Center, 48 Wilson Avenue, Tillsonburg, on Saturday, March 8, 2008 at 11:30 am. It is with great sadness, on Saturday, March 1, 2008 at Victoria Hospital, Muriel Angela (MacDonald) McLeod passed away in her 60th year. Survived by her husband John. Beloved mother of Brenda (Dennis) Giasson and Debbie Ellis. Loving grandmother of Chris, Samantha, Alex, William and Zachery. Special friend to Bob. Survived by her three brothers, three sisters and a number of nieces and nephews. Special thanks to the 7 th Floor Oncology nurses for their care and support during such a hard time. With great joy, Madeleine May (McConnell) Henderson joined her late husbands, Norman “Bill” Henderson and Douglas Lang on February 28, 2008. She is now in the arms of her Lord and beloved Bill and Doug. A wish she has been waiting for while being cared for by the compassionate professional staff of Omni Country Terrace Home in Komoka. Madeleine is survived by her niece Wende (Randy) Wagar of Napanee, her foster son Tom (Diane) Pinkerton of Chatham, her nieces, nephews and friends in Halifax, London and Sarnia. Friends will be received by the family from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at the A. BASSNETT….
Peter James Bassnett died peacefully in the presence of his family in London on Saturday, February 23, 2008, in his 75th year. He will be missed deeply by his wife Ann Bassnett, his daughters Madeline (Randall) and Sarah (Dexter) and his grandchildren Hermione and Maxwell. He was devoted to a life of books and learning. As CEO of Scarborough Public Libraries for 20 years, he oversaw the expansion of the SPL system and promoted the accessibility of books and libraries. While a member of the Ontario Public Libraries Program Review, his recommendations formed a major part of the province’s new Public Libraries Act in 1984. Following cremation, a memorial gathering will be held on Wednesday, February 27, 2008 from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m., at the A. Millard George Funeral Home, 60 Ridout Street South, London. His family would like to thank the staff at University Hospital for their care and compassion.
