Loving father of Robert Moxley and his wife Anna of Whitby, Mary Joan Such of London, Ralph Moxley of Sundridge and Susan Jellett and her husband Robert of Ottawa. Also loved by his grandchildren Jennie Such (Nick Coulter), Sonya Such (Vince Mnidokah), Michelle Moxley (Doug Kenzie and his children Ty and Hunter), Christopher Moxley (Holly Broome), Julia Moxley (Wyatt Baker), Karen Moxley, Catherine Jellett and Laura Jellett, and by his great-grandchildren Oliver Moxley and Benjamin Coulter. Predeceased by his sister Marion Smith and his brother-in-law Austin Smith. Ralph proudly served in the Canadian Navy during World War II. Cremation.     With family by his side, at Victoria Hospital, London, on Thursday, June 7, 2012, Ken C. Church in his 92nd year. Beloved husband of Thelma M. (McKenzie) Church in their 70th year of marriage. Proud father of Wayne Church and his wife Susan of Orton. Loving grandad of Tracy Manchen and her husband Jeff of London, David Hodgkinson and his wife Catherine of Arthur, and great-grandad of Ethan and Jillian, and James and Katelynn.Fondly remembered by Winnipeg family; sister-in-law Thelma Church and brother-in-law Alex McKenzie and his wife Jan and their families. Also sadly missed by Diane Church and Wayne Yantke. Predeceased by his brother Roy. During WWII, Ken served at sea as an officer in the Royal Canadian Navy Volunteer Reserve, and in more recent years was an active member of the Royal Canadian Naval Association.     Suddenly at McCormick Home, London, on Wednesday, June 6, 2012, Col. Chester Dunbar Crowell Jr., US Army Rtd., in his 85th year. Beloved husband of Dr. Joyce Carlyle, the late Mary Lou Crowell and Georgia Crowell. Dear step-father of Ariel Rubissow Okamoto and her husband Paul of San Francisco and Peter Rubissow and his wife Afsoon Razavi of Napa California. Cherished step-grandpa of Tira and Mikki Okamoto and Laili Rubissow. Also missed by his cousins Wilma Sinclair of California and Marilynn Smith of Washington DC. Predeceased by his infant children Charlotte and Bruce Crowell and his baby brother Charles. Chester had a 30 year career in the American Army, where he was an African Specialist and an Intelligence administrator. He served in the Korean and Vietnam wars and held several command positions; notably in Germany and Turkey. His last assignment was as the Military Attaché to the US Embassy in Lagos Nigeria. An avid sailor on his ketch “Snowbird”, Chester sailed her alone from Annapolis Maryland to Burlington Bay. Calling himself a “Terminal Intermediate” skier, he enjoyed Aspen, Collingwood and Boler Mountain. Fitness and golf were important to Chester. Col. Crowell was a member of Syracuse Central City Lodge, a member of the Scottish Rite, and belonged to Sigma Alpha Epsilon Fraternity at Syracuse University. In his last years Chester was best friend with his caregiver Manolita Pace and with Theresa Cramer, his best girlfriend.     Passed away peacefully at Victoria Hospital, London on Tuesday, June 5, 2012, Donald “Don” W. Balch in his 81st year, went to be with his Lord and Saviour. Beloved husband of Shirley M. (Anderson) Balch for 55 years. Dear father of Jeff Balch and his wife Sylvia of London, Dan Balch and his wife Gail of Lobo, and Nancy Balch of London. Cherished papa of Brittany, Stephanie, Jason, Lorelee, Casie, Lucas, Amber, Ashley, and Jared and great-grandpa of Mckenna, Jacy, Jocelyn, Paris, Zander, and Zeke. Also survived by several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his brothers Kenneth, John and Arthur and his sister Margaret Koenig. Retired from London Life, after many years of dedicated service. Don was a Scout Master, and an active member of Patient Partners in Arthritis Program – London. He was a contributing member of Hillside Church (Wortley Baptist) for many years.
