Gordon Jacklin
JACKLIN, Gordon…….
Peacefully at Victoria Hospital, after a lengthy illness, on Friday October 30, 2015, Gordon Leonard Jacklin passed away in his 78th year. Dearly loved husband of Carol for over 50 years. Dear father of Ian of California and Mary of London. Loving grandfather of Breven and Tayvin. Gord was a man of assorted passions, all with a common thread of neatness and organization. He loved playing the church organ, which he did for over 45 years at churches in London and beyond. He taught for 35 years with the Thames Valley District School Board (again including music). At home, Gord’s passion for precision showed in the huge jigsaw puzzles he completed, and in his immaculately organized tool collection in labeled pharmacy drawers. The planning and coordination provided by the staff and management of the CCAC & VON was most appreciated. Special thanks to Steve, his PSW Maureen, Katherina and many nurses who visited Gord allowing him to stay in his home till the end. A very sincere thank you to Dr. Don Farquahar and Pam Wilton for their gentle care and concern throughout the last several years of Gord’s illness. A huge thank you to Rev. Kevin George and Pat Ferguson, our parish nurse, for their love and support for Gord. A Memorial Service will be held at St. Aidan’s Anglican Church, 1246 Oxford Street West, on Thursday November 5, 2015 at 11 am. Visitation will take place one hour prior. The Reverend Canon Dr. Kevin George officiating. Cremation has taken place. Private Family interment at a later date. As an expression of sympathy, memorial donations may be made to St. Aidan’s Anglican Church, or to the charity of your choice. Arrangements entrusted to A. Millard George Funeral Home, 519-433-5184.
