JEFFERESS, Constance Mary 1929 – 2018…

Peacefully on Friday, January 12, 2018 at Parkwood Hospital in her 89th year. Predeceased by her parents Frank and Mary Jefferess and sister Diane (Jefferess) Robinson and her brother-in-law Terry Robinson. Will be missed by her nephew Jeffrey Robinson (Catherine) nieces Janet Robinson (Sam Crozier) and Barbara Robinson; and her Grandnieces and nephew Alexandra Robinson, Joshua Robinson (Emma) and Alison and Gillian Crozier. She will also be missed by her close friends and the people of St. James Westminster Anglican Church. Connie spent many years working as a commercial artist, after which she taught in the Art Department at H. B. Beal Secondary School for 24 years.  She was active on many committees at St. James Westminster Anglican Church including 25+ years with the Altar Guild and the Property Committee. After retirement, years were spent working with the Canadian Embroiderers’ Guild as well as producing liturgical embroideries for churches throughout Southwestern Ontario. Connie was also an active member of the Canadian Bookbinders and Book Artists Guild. The family wishes to extend a thank you to Dr. Catherine Faulds and staff at Grandwood Park for their care and compassion. A memorial service will be held at a later date. SANDALL, James Edward Charles… James Edward Charles Sandall, 87, of London, ON passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 11, 2018 at Fisherman’s Memorial Hospital in Lunenburg, NS. He will be missed greatly by his daughter and son-in-law, Judy and Jon Rawdon and his two grandsons, Zachary and Joshua.  Survived by his brother Harold (Jackie), sister Wanda Tupholme (Ron), his sister-in-law Helen Green and his nieces and nephews.  Predeceased by his wife Penny (Jan. 27, 2009), his son Jeff (Feb. 8, 2017) and his sister Jean (Jun. 23, 2017). Jim touched so many people not only with his work at his day job at Canada Post but with his dedicated involvement throughout the years at the CUPW, the Credit Union and most recently as a past president of the Heritage Club.  He was also very involved as a property manager of Mount Zion United Church for several years.  Visitation will be held one hour prior (12-1pm) to the funeral service on Tuesday, January 30, 2018 at the A. Millard George Funeral Home, 60 Ridout Street South, London. Cremation has taken place. Inurnment in Mount Pleasant Cemetery, London. HARTRY, Marie….

Peacefully at Extendicare, London on Thursday, January 11, 2018, Marie (Dixon) Hartry of London in her 97th year. Beloved wife of the late Arthur Hartry (2002). Loving mother of Marla Nicholls (Barry). Cherished grandma of Matt Nicholls (Jackie Gough) and Alyssa Nicholls. Dearly missed by her nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents Clara (Martene) and Fred Dixon, her sisters Dorothy Adams (Rett), Adeline Elliott (Bill), Wynne Patterson (Don), dear sister-in-law of Mildred Skaarupp (Harry), Victor Hartry (Mary), Ralph Hartry (Alice), Dick Hartry (Connie) and Doris Grant (George). Marie and Arthur owned and operated Hartry Foods in Old South for many years. The family would like to thank Victoria Hospital and Extendicare for their tremendous care provided. Friends will be received by the family one hour prior (12-1pm) to the funeral service being conducted in the funeral home chapel on Tuesday, January 16, 2018 at 1pm, at the A. Peacefully at University Hospital, London, on Monday January 8, 2018, John Noel Pelletier of London, passed away at the age of 85.  Beloved husband of Mary (Phillippe) Pelletier. Dear father of Robert Pelletier and wife Susan, Michelle Palmer and husband Jean-Marc, Richard Pelletier, all of London and Monique McKay and husband Eric of Windsor. Dear brother of Julien Pelletier and wife Jeannine of Orleans. Also loved by his grandchildren: Tammy and husband Rick, Daniel, Jaime and wife Holly, Kristyn, Nicole and Michael, Andrew and Christiane, Iain, Victoria and Glenn, and by his great-grandchildren. Predeceased by his sisters Therese, Pierette and Yolande and his brothers Michel, Marc and Pierre. Former president and owner of London Brake and Steering. Alferink, Dora Wilhelmine…

Dora Alferink (Nee Kaufmann) peacefully passed away surrounded by love on January 8, 2018.  Dora was soft spoken, patient, and had a tender heart.  She was blessed with a large and loving family and she will always be warmly remembered. Dora was born to the late Paul and Wilhelmine Kaufmann. She is now reunited with them, along with her daughter Susan Zender, brother Paul Kaufmann, sister Gertrude Storer, and brother-in-law Don Nowack.  She will be greatly missed by her husband Bernie Alferink, son Philip (Linda) Alferink, son-in-law Carl Zender, her grandchildren Kevin, Cassandra, Sierra, Jamieson and Dustin, and by her treasured great grandchildren Owen and Lina.  Dora will also be dearly missed by her sisters Ruth (Ron) Sigmund and Norma Nowack, her brother Harold (Norma) Kaufmann, her brother-in-law Don Storer and by many family and friends. LANCASTER, John Osborne …
Peacefully with his family by his side, at Parkwood Hospital, St. Joseph’s Health Care London on Sunday January 7th, 2018. John Osborne Lancaster in his 85th year. Beloved husband of Barbara Lewis for four years and cherished husband of the late Joan Lancaster ( Orzen ) for 54 years.  Proud father of Wesley John Lancaster and Tracey ( Jeff ) Andrus.  Adored grandfather of Abby and Mj Andrus and Coleman Lancaster.  He will be missed by his brother Robert and his sister in law Marilyn Lancaster and his dear friend and brother in law Ted and his wife Millie Romhanyi. John will be sadly missed by his friends of 63 years Ilene and Bob Malpass. He will also be missed by Barb’s children and grandchildren. Predeceased by his parents Reverend Osborne Lancaster and Inez ( Salvage ) Lancaster.  In 1933 John was born in Charlottetown P.E.I. The son of a minister John moved from one small town to another throughout South Western Ontario. John spoke fondly of his summers spent at Lake Baptiste as a councilor at Camp Panacka. His love for the outdoors remained, his favourite place included sun, a chair and his headphones.  After high school John attended the Normal School in Stratford where he earned his teaching certificate and met Joan. The two began teaching in the London area.  In 1978 John obtained his Masters of Education from the University of Western Ontario.  John was a proud and loyal Educator with the London Board for 35 years.  His journey as a teacher took him to Sir Adam Beck and Princess Elizabeth and then as Principal he shared his passion at Lord Nelson, Nicholas Wilson and Lorne Avenue.  John touched the lives of many staff and students.  After retiring John began his second career as a court clerk where he joined his other principal friends. He found this so interesting and always had a chuckle when former pupils crossed his desk as having a ” brush with the law”.  Whether it was camping at Lakewood trailer estates for 13 summers, soaking up the splendor at the cottage in Kettle point or in his later years enjoying Florida with his wife Barb, John made connections with others and was always well respected and admired. Thank you Dad for being a wonderful role model and friend. Be free to wander.  We would like to thank Dr. Pearl Langer for her utmost care with John, she continuously went above and beyond while John was in her charge. We would also like to thank all the staff at Parkwood Hospital for their compassion and dedication. Beloved wife of the late Jagan Nath Julania (2003); dear mother of Mahavir Singhla and his wife Manju of London, Rajender Kumar and his wife Punam of Sudbury, Man Mohan Singhla and his wife Nikha of London and Patrick Raj Mohan of London; and loving grandmother of Maneesh and Manav Singhla, Puja and Parul Kumar, Nancy Priya and Amit Singhla.
