DRIVER, Jim….

Peacefully with family by his side on Saturday, March 16, 2019 at Victoria Hospital, London, James “Jim” Driver in his 92nd year. Beloved husband of the late Mary Elizabeth Driver (2000). Loving father of Faith Bourke and her husband Shaun of London. Super Grandpa of Jillian Bourke and her partner Marcin, Colleen Pierre and her husband Matt, and Adam James Bourke. Great grandpa of Harrison, Norah, and Elsie. Loving friend to Marjorie Parker. Predeceased by his sister Gabrielle Millward. Jim was proud of his war time service in the Royal Navy for 15 years including WWII. He immigrated to Canada in 1957, enjoying a Police career as an O.P.P. officer and instructing at the Ontario Police College, retiring as Chief Instructor. Cremation has taken place. Friends will be received by the family on Wednesday, March 20, 2019 from 1-2 pm at the A. Millard George Funeral Home, 60 Ridout Street South, London. The memorial service will be held at 2 pm in the funeral home chapel. Interment at Woodland Cemetery, London. DINNER, Anne….

Peacefully on Friday, March 15, 2019 at Craigwiel Gardens, Ailsa Craig, Anne Dinner in her 92nd year. Beloved wife of the late David Dinner (2017) for 54 years. Loving mom of Carmen Marcon (Paul). Proud grandma of Madison and Millana. Dear sister of Jean Acquin and Joan Edge and aunt of Carole-Rose. Anne will also be missed by her extended family. Predeceased by her nephew Marc. Anne was extremely proud of her granddaughters and always spoke highly of them and their accomplishments. She enjoyed the outdoors, especially beautiful Northern Ontario. Anne was very close with her sisters and she will be so dearly missed. Cremation has taken place and at the family’s request, no service will be held at this time. Unexpectedly at her residence on Tuesday, March 12, 2019, Phyllis Caspell of London, in her 95th year. Dear mother of Paul Caspell (Allegra Sloman) of Burnaby, B.C., Ruth Caspell (John Suline) of Toronto, and Lois Schmidt (Robert) of Duchess, Alberta. Much loved grandmother of Keith, Kate, Jesse, Kaitlin, Jessica, Lindsay and Caileigh and great-grandmother of Ava, Meadow, Roman, and Alexander. Predeceased by her son John Caspell, parents Colin and Kathleen Palmer and brother Allan Palmer. Cremation has taken place. Cousin and good friend to Wendy Cakarnis (John), Wayne Morrison (Christine), and Janet Jeffery (David). Survived by his brother Doug (Mike), his sister Alicia (Ric), and stepsons Cameron and Graham Stephenson (Janna). Predeceased by parents Alicia and Doug Middleton. POWELL, Vivian…

Vivian was a native of Brantford, Ontario. Vivian (Brownie) loved fastball and was a pitcher in her teens and early twenties taking her RCAF Women’s team to the 1956 European finals. Vivian joined the Canadian Air Force as a young woman and enjoyed her time serving, both in Canada and overseas. Throughout her life, Vivian was loving, extremely witty, kind hearted and always had a warm smile to brighten any day. Vivian had a deep, genuine interest in people and their lives always asking about others and welcoming everyone into her heart and home.  Vivian enjoyed her career with Ontario Nurses Association, where she grew and enjoyed many lifelong friendships as well as honed her mad crossword skills.

Vivian, in her 86th year, peacefully passed away on Saturday, March 2, 2019 in London. Beloved wife of Jerry Powell for 63 years. Loving mother of Greg (Heather), Guy (Barb), Denise (William), and David (Caroline). Dear sister of Bernice Cohoe, Clara Cook, Lorne Brown, Robert Brown and sister-in-law of Johnny Powell and Donna Kenner. Pre-deceased by her parents, Clarence and Esther Brown, brothers Russell and Earl Brown, sister, Pauline Young, and brother-in-law, Tommy Powell. Vivian will be greatly missed by her family, friends, and many nieces and nephews and all she took such great care of. With respect to Vivian’s wishes, no funeral services will be held. GORDON, Velma Malinda….

Velma Gordon passed away peacefully on Friday, March 1, 2019 at Mount Hope Centre for Long Term Care in her 102nd year. She is survived by her niece Ellen (Graham) Buller and her great nephew Mathew (Dawn) Buller, all of Pennsylvania, USA. She was predeceased by her sister Viola Salo, brother-in-law William Salo and a baby brother. Velma was appreciated and will be missed by her extended family, particularly Dwayne Rickard. She enjoyed her career teaching and maintained an active interest in how her former students were doing. Velma’s long life and wonderful spirit are an inspiration to all of us. A special recognition to Jack and Mary for being the most supportive and caring neighbours for 35 years and a grateful thank you to all of the staff at Mount Hope for the care and compassion that Velma received during her time there.
