    CHRISTIE —- On Friday September 6th 2002 in her 79th year, Mrs. Elizabeth B. (Williamson) Christie, a resident of London for 48 years, and formerly of Scotland. Beloved wife of the late James Christie. Dear mother of Anne Hutton and her husband Jim of Bowmanville, and Moira Maxfield and her husband Mike of Thunder Bay. Dear sister of Arthur Williamson and his wife Cathie of Scotland. Also loved by her grandchildren Jamie, Rob, Michael, Heather and David. Mrs.Christie was a retired teacher with the London Board of Education. Friends will be received one hour prior to the funeral and committal service being conducted in the chapel of the A. Millard George Funeral Home, 60 Ridout Street South, London, on Wednesday September 11th at 1 P.M. Cremation to follow.     Harold Laursen, aged 96 years died peacefully on Wednesday , September 4, 2002. Harold was an active citizen of the City of London and was also a loving father of five children, twelve grandchildren and nineteen great-grandchildren. Harold was born in Denmark on July 27, 1906 to Jesper and Kristina Laursen and came to Canada in 1924 on the ship Droningholm”. He worked on farms in the London area and in 1929 he began working at Clark R. Daly Fuels in the city. He retired from work in 1973″

Beloved father of Scott of New York City, Tracy and husband Pat Moore of Toronto. Loving step-father of Christine Hlodan of Toronto and Gary Hlodan of London. Fondly remembered by former wife Connie. He will be deeply missed by his many nieces, nephews and friends. His absence will be deeply felt by all his buddies at both the Hermitage Club and Sunningdale Golf Club.     Passed away peacefully at Parkwood Hospital, London on Wednesday, August 28, 2002, Donald Haig Smith of London in his 82nd year, after a lengthy but brave battle with Parkinson’s Disease. Dear father of Simon Smith and his wife Andjela of Toronto; Gaebrielle Anders and her husband James, Melody Smith-Kristofer and her husband Jason, and Aimee Smith all of Los Angeles. Dear brother of Mrs. Lily McNamee of Hamilton and Mrs. Ivy Wallace of Dorchester. Predeceased by his sisters Madge, Ruby, Violet, Ada, May and his brother Billy. Sadly missed by his grandchildren, Jacob, Noah, Luke, Katia and Samuel. Don, a decorated WWII veteran, was among many things an acclaimed tenor, actor, teacher, and Native American arts and history enthusiast. In his early career as an entertainer Don travelled extensively throughout Europe and North America performing both on stage and on television. A career highlight being a request to perform for HM, Queen Elizabeth, the Queen Mother at the London Palladium. Closer to home, Don went on to host his own television program on the CBC called Trail Scout” promoting his love of Native American culture and arts”

Loving grandmother of Jennifer (Mitchell) Martin and her husband Brian Martin of London. Survived by her brother William J. Quartermain and his wife Thyra of Moncton, New Brunswick, several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Predeceased by her brothers and sisters, Elizabeth Howland, Charles Quartermain, Grace Locke, Douglas Quartermain and their spouses.
