Earl Franklin Van Ness

Peacefully at the Dearness Home, London, on Tuesday, October 17, 2006. Earl Franklin Van Ness of London and formerly of Simcoe in his 90th year. Beloved husband of Elsie Annie (Walker) Van Ness. Dear father of Guy Van Ness of London, Chester Van Ness and his wife Elizabeth of Scotland, Ontario and Heather Taback and her husband Henry of London. Dear grandfather of Jeff, Chris, Sarah and her husband John, Sandra and her husband Kory, Nicholas, Nathan and Anastasia. Also loved by his great-grandchildren Mathew, Maxwell and Ethan. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family. Earl served with the Canadian Army in Italy during the Second World War. Friends will be received by the family one hour prior to a memorial service being conducted in the chapel of the A. STELZER
Maria Stelzer, former resident of Beattie Haven Retirement Home, passed away peacefully at Babcock Community Care Centre on Thursday, October 12, 2006 at the age of 87 years. Emigrated to Canada from Austria in 1951. Beloved mother of Elisabeth Wolf and her husband Alexander of Rodney. Cherished grandmother of Anthony of Rodney, Jonathan of West Lorne, Stefanie and husband Chris Belchevski of Richmond Hill and Andrea and friend Adam O’Toole of Fredericton, New Brunswick. Dear great grandmother of Alexandra Belchevski. Maria will be lovingly remembered and forever in our hearts. Survived by two sisters, also numerous cousins and other relatives in Austria. Predeceased by husband John in 1992. Cremation has taken place. No visitation. Interment of cremated remains in Columbarium at Mount Pleasant Cemetery, London, after a private family memorial service in December. Arrangements entrusted to A. Karl Decker
DECKER:
At University Hospital , London , after a short and peaceful bout with cancer, on Saturday, October 7, 2006, Frederick Karl Decker in his 83rd year. Beloved husband for 55 years of the late Ruth (Adamthwaite) Decker. Proud father of Brian and Heather Decker, Randy and Angela Decker, Tim Decker, and Susan and Bruce McDonald. Predeceased by his son Wayne Decker and his daughter Jennifer Caissie. Grandpa will be missed by 15 grandchildren. Karl was born in Zurich, lived and farmed in Huron County until 1972, when he and Ruth retired to their lakefront home at Lake McQuaby, near Nipissing, Ontario and developed a passion for woodworking. Returned to the London area after Ruth’s passing in 2002 and continued his extensive hobby. Per his wishes there will be no visitation or funeral service. An Open House to reminisce with family and friends will be held at the home of Susan and Bruce McDonald, 169 Harris Road, Delaware on Sunday October 15th from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. Special thanks to Karl’s caregivers at University Hospital, 4th Floor.
