Beloved wife of the late John Carter (June 11, 1990). Dear mother of John A. Carter and his wife Margo of Arva. Dear sister of George Symon and his wife Millie of Dorchester and Thomas Symon and his wife Velma of Mossley. Predeceased by her sister-in-law Dianne Symon (August 17, 2003). Dear sister-in-law of Les Carter of London. Loving grandmother of Lori Hoffer and her husband Justin of London and Sandra “Sam” Carter and partner Dan Morgan of Clinton. Also lovingly remembered by her friends Heinz and Ella Mueller of London. Also loved by her many nieces, nephews and cousins. Cremation has taken place.     Suddenly at his home, Otto Bertholdt Biskaborn, on Saturday February 10th, 2007 in his 80th year. Beloved husband of the late Barbara (Feasey) 1987. Cherished friend of Claudine Gisen. Loving father of Jens Biskaborn (Sharon), Ute Martin (Leroy), Wanda Hare (Dave) and Kathy Feasey all of London. Dear brother of Hermann and Barbel Brummer (Harold) of Germany. Proud Grandpa of Amy, Brad and Kevin Biskaborn, Brahm, Jordan and Shad Martin, Amanda Kormendy (Doug) and Cody Hare, Travis and Victoria Feasey. Great Grandfather of Kaedence Kormendy and Abigail Martin. Otto was a long time member of the Fanshawe Yacht Club, and was called Grandpa with the Boat” by his grandchildren.     Peacefully passed away at Parkwood Hospital, London on Thursday, February 8, 2007. Marjorie K. (Costello) Smith of London, formerly of Fort Frances, Ontario in her 89th year. Beloved wife of the late J. Wesley Smith. Dear mother of Norm Smith and his wife Barb of London and Ron Smith and his wife Nicole of Surrey BC. Loving grandmother of Stephanie Schembri and her husband Mario of London, Heather Smith of London and Danielle Smith of Surrey, B.C. Sister of Pearl Scott and her husband Perry of Hamilton. Predeceased by sisters Victoria, Florence, Sadie and Mildred and by brothers William, Edward and George. Friends will be received by the family from 2pm. to 4pm. on Sunday February 11th at the A. Marjorie was a gracious lady, loved by all and known for her baked goods, especially her chocolate chip cookies. She was a long term member of the Order of the Eastern Star (Evergreen and Wenonah Chapters).   • Bessie Margaret Bowden

    BOWDEN, Bessie Margaret

    Peacefully, on February 5, 2007 in London in her 98th year. Daughter of Lillian and Reverend W. H. Smith, Bessie graduated from Victoria College, U of T in 1930, becoming a teacher before marrying John J. Bowden in 1935. His career included positions at Paterson Collegiate in Windsor, UTS in Toronto, and UWO’s Faculty of Education in London. After his death in 1970, Bessie lived in their house until aged 90, actively supporting London’s art galleries and the University Women’s Club; together, they had helped to found the Architectural Conservancy of Ontario, London Region. She is survived by her sons John and his wife Leora of Ann Arbor Michigan, and Bruce and his partner Anna Gray of Toronto and Colborne, and by two grandchildren of Bruce’s previous marriage, Bruce and Bill, both in London. We are grateful to the staff members of Meadowcroft Place who have cared for her with kindness. Friends will be received by the family one hour prior to the Memorial Service which will be held at the A. Millard George Funeral Home, 60 Ridout Street South, London on Monday, February 19, 2007 at 1 p.m., with Reverend Dr. David McKane officiating.
