    GAHLINGER…..

    Margrit Rosa Gahlinger died peacefully in her sleep and surrounded by family, in her 90th year, at London Health Sciences Centre on April 19, 2007. Born Margrit Frei in Gahwil, Switzerland, she suffered the early loss of her beloved husband, Anton Josef Gahlinger, with whom she will be interred. Margrit was well known in the London community for her social service and volunteer activities, for which she received the first Mary Campbell award in 1983. She was always modest and compassionate, especially toward those who had struggled through poverty and hardship, as she had, to make a new life in a foreign land. To all who knew her, she was a beacon of hope and optimism. To her family, she was a lighthouse of faith and integrity. She is survived by her children Maria, Margrit, Tony, Peter, Trudy, Paul, Tess, Claudia and Rosemary; her grandchildren Dan, Sean, Ria, Adrian, Carmen and Calen; and her great-granddaughter Angelita; her brother Capuchin Fr Ingebert and her sister Anneli Frei. Cremation has taken place. Friends will be received by the family one hour prior (9-10am) at St. Peter’s Cathedral Basilica, 196 Dufferin Avenue, London, where the funeral mass will be celebrated on Monday, April 23, 2007 at 10am with Father Callistus St Louis officiating.     At her residence in London on Monday April 16,2007, Edna (Jackson) Colquhoun formerly of Welland, in her 97th year. Beloved wife of the late Gilbert Colquhoun (1960). Dear mother of Joan Thibert, Dorothy Graham (Ray), Robert Colquhoun (Ria) and Gary Colquhoun (Pauline). Loving grandmother of Nancy Liske, Rob Hughes (Janette), Gil Graham (Carrie), Rick Graham (Susan), Carol Graham, Rob and Ryan Colquhoun . Edna will be missed by her 8 great-grandchildren. Predeceased by her son Gilbert Jr. Colquhoun and son-in-laws James Hughes and Clare Thibert. Edna worked for many years at Sunset Haven, Welland.     BOTHAM: After a lengthy illness at Restview Retirement Home, Lucan on Saturday, April 14th, 2007 Wesley F. (Wes) Botham of London in his 89th year. Loving husband and best friend of Vera M. (Seili), his wife of nearly 64 years. Son of the late Maurice and Elizabeth (Field) Botham. Predeceased by his 3 sisters Edith (Mrs. Bob Wilson), Marjorie (Mrs. Edward Smith), Jeanne (Mrs. Russell Birkhead) and his brother George Botham. Also loved by his nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. Wes was a long time employee of General Motors of Canada. He was a veteran of World War 2 serving with the R.C.A.F in the North Atlantic and European theaters of war. A member of Dundas Street Centre United Church, he served in several areas of the Official Board. He was a Past Master and Life Member of Corinthian Lodge No. 330 A.F. & A.M. and a Charter Member of London Daylight Lodge No. 735. He served as the first District Deputy Grand Master of the London West Masonic District in 1966 and 1967. A member of Supreme Council 33rd Degree Mason, London Lodge of Perfection, London Chapter Rose Croix, Moore Sovereign Consistory, Hamilton, and Mocha Temple Shrine. Friends will be received from 2-4 and 6-9 p.m. Tuesday at the A. Millard George Funeral Home, 60 Ridout Street South, London where the complete funeral service will be conducted in the chapel on Wednesday, April 18th at 1:00 p.m. with Reverend Catherine Tovell officiating. Interment in Mount Pleasant Cemetery, London.
