    Peacefully at London Health Sciences Centre – Victoria Hospital on Thursday September 11, 2008. Ella (Rae) Gurney of London, formerly of Wingham, in her 95th year. Beloved wife of the late W. W. “Jim” Gurney (1996). Loving mother of Don (Betty) Gurney of Paris, Jean (Bill) Bradbrooke of Tacoma, WA and Rae (Richard) Elgie of Calgary, AB. Sadly missed by her seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Survived by her sister Betty (Russell) St. John of Uxbridge. Predeceased by her brothers Ron, Murray and Bob Rae. Ella had enjoyed a wonderful summer with family and friends at her cottage in Kincardine. Special thanks to Cathy and Ross Chapin and the caring staff of Inspirit Residences, Kincardine EMS, emergency room staff and the doctors and staff of the respirology unit at Victoria Hospital. Loved wife of the late R. Joseph Given and the late Harrison D. Graham. Mother of three daughters Ruth Stolk (Dale) of Sarnia, June Jackson (the late Sherwood) of Stratford and Patricia Gregory of Ottawa. Grandmother of six; Constance, Catharine, Douglas, Jay, Dale, and Victoria. There are ten great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren. Survived by her sister-in-law Kay Mason. She is the last of her immediate family being predeceased by her brothers Perce (Elizabeth), Harold (Rene), Harry, and her sister Florence Marley (Sam). Also from her second marriage Violet is survived by her step-children Peter Graham (Veronica), Anne Laforet (Norm) and Rick Graham (Pam) all of London. Also loved by her grandchildren Sherrie, Susan, Mark, Melissa, Chris, Michael, Jennifer and by her 6 great-grandchildren. Cremation has taken place. Survived by his sister Cheryle McMillan, sisters-in-law Kathleen Nurse, Maureen Duncan (Jim) and brother-in-law Tom Shacklady (Susan). Sadly missed by his nieces and nephews; Jared and Jenn McMillan, Erica O’Brien (Darryl), Josh Duncan, Ellyse Shacklady and Charlotte Nurse. Also missed by his great-niece Erin O’Brien. Predeceased by his son James (1988), his parents Herbert (1984) and Mary (2003) and his brother-in-law Keith McMillan (2006). Cremation has taken place.
