Brian Mark Moore
Brian Mark Moore peacefully passed away at Country Terrace, Komoka, on March 30, 2009 in his 72nd year after a lengthy battle with Parkinson’s Disease. He was predeceased by his parents Vivian Gertrude (2003) and Cyril Horton Moore. Brian was a loving husband of 47 years to his wife Susan Moore (nee; Southby) of London. Dear father to Heather Zuskan and husband Kim of Port Dover and Andrew and wife Terry of St. Thomas. Grandfather to Christopher, Matthew, Kayla, Geoffrey, Nicholas and Isabella. Brian is also survived by his sister Sandra Jacobs of Kearney. Brian is a graduate of Burlington High School in 1955. He entered Collège Militaire Royal de Saint-Jean, Quebec, and then graduated from Royal Military College, Kingston in 1960 and went on to complete Chemical Engineering degree at McMaster University in 1961. Brian served with the Royal Canadian Horse Artillery in Camp Petawawa until 1963. He joined A.E.C.L nuclear Research unit in Chalk River before joining the Ontario Hydro Nuclear Power Program as technical engineer at the Douglas Point Nuclear Generating Station in 1965. In 1973 Brian and his family lived in Kincardine where Brian was Technical and Production Manager at the Bruce Nuclear Station. 1990 Brian accepted an offer to join the International Atomic Energy Agency in Vienna, Austria. He was assigned as nuclear safety specialist. Brian was an honoree life time member of Kiwanis Club London. Brian loved digging in his garden, listening to classical music and enjoyed many hours of sailing Lake Huron and Georgian Bay. A memorial service will take place on Friday, May 8, 2009 at 2:00 pm at St. Michael & All Angels Anglican Church, 397 Springbank Drive, London. Dear father of Mary-Lou Gatward and her husband Dave of London, Sue Methuen and her husband Pat of Airdrie, Alberta and John E. Young of London. Also loved by his grandchildren Julie Fraser and her husband Scott, Mike Gatward and Richard Edwards-Jones, and his great-grandsons Shawn and Christopher Fraser. Dear brother of Martha Miller of Nanaimo, B.C., Arnold Yung of Queensland, Australia. Predeceased by his brothers Albert Yung and Walter Yung, his sisters Bertha Miller, Augusta Smith and Dorothy Thompson. He was also loved by his nieces and nephews. The family of Alice Irene Snowden (nee Jackson), sadly announces that after a long and happy life, she peacefully passed away on March 25, 2009, in her 97th year. Alice leaves her family and friends with warm memories of a woman who was kind and generous to everyone she met. Her strong sense of family and her unconditional love will be missed most by those who loved her. A devoted member of the Christian Science Church.
Alice was the beloved wife of the late Henry “Hank” Snowden (1983). Proud and loving mother to Gerald Snowden and his wife Margaret of London, and daughter Marilyn Brown and the late Robert Brown (1994). Cherished sister to Geraldine (Ken) Irwin. Alice was adored by her Grandchildren, Tracey and Peri Luel, Orianna Snowden, Scott and Carrie Lynn Brown, Jason and Sarah Snowden, and Shawna and Kelly Malone. Blessed with memories of their Great Grandma are Johanna and Henry Luel, Tatum, Flynn and Declan Malone, Jack Snowden and Griffin Brown.
Predeceased by parents Lillian (Graham) and William “Wink” Jackson and three of her sisters, Florence (Earl) Cotton, Helen Ditchfield and Bernice (Walter) Scott. Mother was a much loved aunt to many nieces and nephews and loved to play bridge.
