It is with great sadness that the family of Irene F. (Newmarch) Colbourne announces her passing at Longworth Long Term Care, London, on Tuesday, March 30, 2010, in her 96th year. Beloved wife of the late Roy Colbourne (1988). Devoted mother of Lynne Tomlinson (Michael) and Janis Johnston (Tom). Dearly loved nana to Lisa Ancans (Graham), Kevin Tomlinson (Michelle), Brent Tomlinson (Nicole) and Adam Johnston. She was a very special great-nana to 7 great-grandchildren; Jeremy, Lucas, Tyler, Joelle, Alyssa, Connor and Maya. She will also be deeply missed by many nieces and nephews. Irene was predeceased by four brothers, one sister and their spouses, and a special grand-daughter, Vanessa Johnston. Friends will be received by the family 1 hour prior (9:30-10:30am) to the celebration of Irene’s life being held on Saturday, April 3, 2010 at 10:30am at the A. Peacefully, on Monday, March 29, 2010, Dorothy L. (Ruppel) Chalmers in her 93rd year. Beloved wife of the late Murray W. Chalmers (2002). Dear mother of David Chalmers (Beverly Harley) of London and Mary Flannigan of London. Loving grandmother of Paul Chalmers (Julia McMenamin), Heather Chalmers (Umar Chaudry), Andrew Flannigan, and Meghan Flannigan. Sadly missed by her sister Betty Schneider and sisters-in-law Lavinia Ruppel and Helen Chalmers. Affectionately remembered by her nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her three brothers Kenneth, Earl and Douglas. Dorothy was raised in Waterloo and moved to London with her husband Murray upon his return from overseas. A longtime active member of Elmwood Presbyterian Church, she was a generous supporter of numerous charitable organizations including Mission Services. A private family service will be held, followed by cremation. Final resting place in Hampstead Cemetery, Shakespeare Ontario. Friends are invited to share in a celebration of Dorothy’s long life to be held at Elmwood Avenue Presbyterian Church, 111 Elmwood Avenue, London on Friday, April 9, 2010 at 2:00 pm. Loving mother of Maureen Claire MacLeod Steele and her husband Dennis Steele of California, Marianne Rae MacLeod and her husband Michael Hughes of Toronto, David Allen MacLeod and his wife Donna Croce of Toronto and Ian Ross MacLeod and his wife Shaune of London. Dear sister of William Thomas Allen and his wife Patricia of Toronto. Cherished grandmother (Bubba) to Matthew, Heather, Andrew, Claire, Veronica, David, Kathleen and Samuel. Sister-In-Law to Jean McIntyre, Bruce MacLeod and Mac MacLeod. She will be sadly missed by her husband Harold Calvert. Predeceased by her husband Raymond Hugh MacLeod (1974). Also loved by many nieces and nephews. Loving father of Leslee Ingram (Laurence), David Stewart, John Stewart (Shaneen) and Andrew Stewart (Wendy). Cherished grandfather of Michael and Benjamin Ingram, Emily and William Stewart, Douglas Stewart and great-grandfather of Maxwell Ingram. Dear brother of Bill, Burton and Elaine. Predeceased by his parents Jack and Florence Stewart of Valleyfield, Quebec and his siblings John, Margaret and Dorothy. Doug was a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers and was an employee of EMCO London for 32 years.
