Peacefully at Longworth Long Term Care, London, on Tuesday, May 29, 2012, Ken Layland in his 82nd year. Beloved husband of the late Lelah (Schott) Layland (2006). Proud father of Ken Layland and his wife Laurie of Burlington, Bob Layland of Thamesford, and Don Layland and his wife Sandy of London. Loving grandfather of Kyle, Danielle, Mike and Allison. Dear brother of George Layland and his wife Blanche, Bill Layland and his wife Sharon and brother-in-law of Pam McLean. Also missed by many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his brother Ralph Layland. Friends will be received by the family from 2-4 and 7-9pm on Friday, June 1, 2012, at the A. Suddenly at University Hospital, London on Monday, May 28, 2012, William “Bill” Wood in his 78th year. Beloved husband of Pat Wood for 54 years. Proud father of Geoff Wood (Joanne) of London, Jon Wood (Belinda) of Vancouver, and Jennifer Hogg (Steve) of London. Cherished grandpa of Morgan and Madison Wood, and Melanie and Casey Hogg. Dear brother-in-law of Gwen Robson and Tom Mallett (Carol Anne). Missed by his nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents Lawrence and Berna Wood and his sister Jane Burton. Bill was a longtime partner of Ernst & Young, London. Following retirement he served on the Boards of the Diocese of Huron, London Linen, St. Joseph’s Health Care, and Merrymount. Friends will be received by the family from 3-5 and 7-9pm on Friday, June 1, 2012 at the A. ,peacefully at University Hospital, London, on Sunday, May 27, 2012, Bernice (Bartlett) Clifford in her 90th year. Beloved wife of the late Cecil C. Clifford (1998). Loving mother of Richard Clifford and his wife Marilyn of London and Brian Clifford and his wife Guylaine of Woodstock. Cherished grandmother of Craig Clifford, Karen Clifford, Jeffery Clifford (Samantha), Sylvain Clifford, and Jocelynne Clifford and great-grandmother of Benjamin, Logan, and Emma. Also missed by her nieces, nephews, and fondly remembered by Sharon Opferman. Predeceased by her parents Charles and Myrtle Bartlett, her 2 brothers Kitchener Howard (1979) (Daisy), Everett Bartlett (1948), her grandson Michael Clifford (1984) and her nephew Wayne Howard (1998). Bernice was a Registered Nurse (Victoria Hospital), who enjoyed a long and successful career in Nursing and Social Work. The family would like to thank the caregivers, precious friends, and Dr. William McKeough, for their care and compassion. JOHNSTON, Patricia Stella – At Chelsey Park Long Term Care, London on Sunday, May 27, 2012, Patricia S. (Rogers) Johnston. Beloved wife of the late Gordon F. Johnston (1983). Loving mother of daughter Mairead P. Johnston-Spooner, son-in-law Barry Johnston-Spooner of London and daughter Lucinda S. Johnston of Toronto. Devoted sister of Stanley Rogers of the U.K. Cherished aunt of nephews Carl Rogers and David Rogers and nieces Pat Cannon and Rosemary Carter of the U.K. The deceased was born in India. She was educated at a Convent School in the Himalayas before attending College in India, as well. She first moved to England after the end of WWII and then, in 1953, immigrated to Canada. Patricia enjoyed a long career at the University of Western Ontario (from 1963 to 1990) as an Administrative Assistant and Financial Aid Counselor for the Student Awards Program, Office of the Registrar. Among her many passions were travel, learning in retirement, art, music and literature. Her friends will remember her as a remarkable woman whose sweetness and generosity touched many hearts. The family would like to thank the staff of Chelsey Park Long Term Care for their grace and compassion. At the request of the deceased there is to be no visitation but family and friends are all invited to attend A. Clarridge (1972). Dear mother of Terry Clarridge (Ana) of Burlington and D.”Lynn” Ritchie (Wayne) of London. Loved grandmother of Todd Ritchie (Sarah), Trevor Ritchie, Adam Clarridge (Elena) and Laura Clarridge (Ed) and great grandmother of Teaghan and Brenna Ritchie. Dear sister of Alma Roth, Arlene Dean and Wilbur McCracken. Predeceased by her parents Charles and Neva McCracken, sisters Grace English and Lela Meeks and brothers Charles and Archibald McCracken. Beryl was a WWII veteran and member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch # 015, Brampton since 1950. Cremation has taken place. Peacefully on Saturday, May 19, 2012 in London, Mary C. (nee Darby) Martin in her 90th year. Mary has joined her loving family in Heaven. With God’s grace she is rejoicing with her husband, Fred, her son Bryan and her daughter Jill. She devoted her life to the care and well being of her family. She will also be welcomed by her late parents Fred and Vera Darby and her mother-in-law Ella Martin, as well as the large extended Martin family. She will be greatly missed by her loving daughter; Heather Greenfield and her husband Richard of London. Dear sister of Tom Darby and his wife Sherry of Edmonton and sister-in-law of Peggy Martin of Chatham. Also missed by her nieces and nephew.
