    SCOTT, Joseph Albert

    Peacefully at his residence on Sunday, July 21, 2013, Joseph Scott in his 90th year. Beloved husband of the late Thelma M. (nee Martin) Scott. Survived by his sister-in-law Mary of Wiarton. Predeceased by his brothers Robert (Betty) Scott, John Scott (Jean), Lorne Scott and sister Nancy Flynn (Howard). Will be sadly missed by his cousin Victor Scott and his buddy Thomas. He will be remembered by many nieces, nephews and friends. Joe was well known in the trucking industry as the owner of London White Trucks (London, Sarnia, Windsor, Kitchener and Owen Sound). His interest in trucks continued after his retirement when he lead the restoration of the famous Labatt’s Streamliner and the 1919 Labatt’s Keg Truck. He was a life member of St. John’s Lodge No. 20 A.F. & A.M., Mocha Temple and member of the Shriners Jeepsters Unit. He was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch No. 513, served in R.C.N.V.R. and is a life member of the Canadian Professional Sales Association. Friends will be received from 2-4 and 7-9pm on Thursday, July 25, 2013 at the A. Millard George Funeral Home, 60 Ridout Street South, London, where the funeral service will be conducted in the chapel on Friday, July 26, 2013 at 11am. Cremation to follow with interment of cremated remains in Woodland Cemetery, London.     Peggy went to be with the Lord on Friday, July 19, 2013, in her 89th year. Survived by her husband William “Bill” Upton. Loving mother of Wendy Hibma and her husband Richard of London and Jane Bennett of Toronto. Proud grandmother of David Hurd and Robin Manton (Adrian) and her great-grandchildren Katie, Devon, Sydney and Jaedon. Dear sister of Dennis (Eileen), Ray (Gloria), Bob (Kay). Predeceased by her sister Violet and brothers Jim, Lionel and Bill, her son Billy and her grandson Stephen. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.     Peacefully at Parkwood Hospital, London on Wednesday, July 17, 2013. With heavy hearts we announce the passing of our father Edward “Ted” George Oakley in his 97th year. Son of George Edward Oakley and Mary Ellen (Murphy) Oakley. Beloved husband of Ruby Lorraine (Gill) (1991). Proud father of Wayne (Cathy) Oakley of Southhampton, Ontario, Debbie (Jim) Somerville of Glanworth, Ontario and Barb (Lorne) Seaton of London, Ontario. Grandfather of Tracey (Mike) Kelly, Tim (Marcia) Oakley, Tina Oakley, Carrie (Chris) Reed and Jamie “Chubby” (Cathy) Somerville. Great Grandpa to Cody Emerson James and Rebecca Ann Reed, Ella Catherine, John Edward, and Brady James Somerville and Kelsey Wilcox-Oakley. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his sisters Nellie Shearme and Alice “Ciss” Monks. Step brother of Jim and Harry Oakley. Half-brother of Fred Taylor, Walt Taylor, Reg Taylor and Edna Plank. Dad was very proud to serve in the Second World War as a gunnery instructor for the Royal Canadian Navy. After returning home to his wife Ruby, they settled in Old South London where they raised their family. Dad worked at Labatts for 38 years and had many interests including hunting and fishing as well as his boat and trailer in Port Glasgow. One of Dad’s greatest gifts to his family was his love and his zest for life. At Christmas time his standing joke at the dinner table was “please go easy on the butter guys, it’s 5 cents a pound”. Dad we will truly miss you, your sense of humor and your smile. We love you Daddi-O. Now go drop your line and go fishing “Cheerio and a Pip”.     Passed peacefully, surrounded by family at Victoria Hospital, London, on Wednesday, July 10, 2013. Marjorie (Nee Bowra) Carter was in her 89th year, and will be deeply missed by children Larry McPherson, Bob McPherson(Ginny) and Kathy McPherson (Trent), granddaughter Laurie Wright, great grandchildren Austin, Aimee and Ashlee, extended family and dear friends. Marjorie was predeceased by parents Beatrice and Frank Bowra, brother Stan Bowra (Isabel), husbands Lloyd McPherson and Bert Carter, and great granddaughter Sarah. Mom grew up in Toronto and St Thomas, before moving to London as a young bride. Marjorie’s children were her passion, and life’s simplest pleasures gave her the greatest joy. She devoted herself to everything she did and found fulfillment in family, friends, faith, working with veterans at Victoria Hospital, volunteering at Dearness home and caring for all manner of pets and strays – including Nancy. Her favourite gift was the gift of giving. She gave effortlessly and abundantly, with care and compassion, unconditional love and lemon pie. Marjorie saw beauty in all that surrounds us and while she admired perfection, she cherished the flaws. Her days were filled with love and laughter, treasured family, finery of friendships, golden moments, and celebration of life’s small wonders. She also enjoyed the New York Yankees, Canada’s curling teams, and men in shorts. If life were a garden and people were flowers Marjorie would be our sunflower. She would stand high above us, spreading warmth and sunshine and sowing seeds of love that will grow in our hearts forever. Dear brother-in-law of Pauline Ferguson. Also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins. Predeceased by his sister Sharon and his brothers Robert and Donald. Harold was a Past Master of Centennial Lodge No. 684 A. F. & A. M. He had his own Dairy farm in the Belmont area, after Dairy farming he worked for Murphy Bus Lines for many years. Dearly loved and cherished father of Christopher, Cody, and Taylor. Proud and much loved son of Bev Roach (Victor) of Englehart and Marcel Caron (Nicki) of California. Loving son-in-law of Susan Boulton (Michael) of North Carolina and Rick Boulton (Marion) of London. Devoted brother of Mike Caron (Dar Fanson). Dear grandson of Blanche Carter (late Edward Carter), Blanche McKay (Bruce, and the late Noel Caron), and Lily Boulton (Edwin). Also missed by his many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Tim was a devoted, dedicated, respected and founding member of Phantom Thunder MC and will be forever known to many as “Shaggy”.
