Grace Lawson
LAWSON, Grace ….
Passed away peacefully at McGarrell Place on Friday, December 6, 2013, Grace Lawson (nee White) in her 90th year. Loving wife for over 60 years of the late George Lawson. Beloved mother of Julia and Cal Kane, Janet and Don Langford, Andrea and Dolph Schluter, and the late Ken Lawson. Cherished grandmother of Aaron (Wanda), Ethan and Jovian (Laura) Miller; Chris (Annie), Matt and Paul Kane; Arwen (Kris) Peeling; Tao (Kim) Langford and Magdalen Grace Schluter and great-grandmother of Jenna, Rachel, Grace, James, Rosie, Annabelle, Brandon, Jasmyn, Taylor, Ruby, Jude, Troy and Eli. Grace cared deeply about others and family and friends benefitted from her loving support. For many years Grace was a committed volunteer working with developmentally disabled children. She will be deeply missed. The family would like to thank the staff at McGarrell Place for their tender care. Cremation has taken place. A celebration of life will be held at the A. Passed away peacefully at Parkwood Hospital, London on Thursday, December 5, 2013, Frank Mayo in his 92nd year. Beloved husband of the late Connie Mayo. Loving father of Joe Mayo and his wife Beverly of Ballantrae, Carolyn Sitlington and her husband David of Strathroy, Evie Rogers and her husband Wayne of London, and Marilyn Rabideau and her husband Wayne of Elmwood. Cherished grandfather of Erin, Patrick, Sarah, Dawn, Shelley, Michelle, Jenny and Sandy and great-grandfather of Leah, Olivia, Parker, Michael, Lucas, Kiera, and Emily. Also survived by several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his son Frank in infancy and his brothers and sisters Helen, Winnie, Syd, Marge, Cyril, Betty, Joe and Don. Friends will be received by the family from 2-4 pm on Sunday, December 8, 2013 and from 12 -1 pm on Monday, December 9, 2013 at the A. Unexpectedly at his residence on Wednesday, December 4, 2013, Clement “Clem” King Jr., of London at the age of 26. Beloved son of Clement King Sr. and Maggie Wilson-King (London). Loving brother of Tatiana King (Toronto) and step-brother of Jacklin King (Ghana). Cherished nephew of Osei Kofi (Michael) Afriyie (Toronto), Christiana Amankwah (Mississauga), Frank Osei Kwame (Brampton) and Grace Sarfo Kantanka (Ghana). Clem will be missed by his family and his many friends. Friends will be received by the family from 2-4 and 7-9pm on Friday, December 13, 2013 at the A. Passed away peacefully at Parkwood Hospital, London on Tuesday, December 3, 2013, Joe Bowman in his 94th year. Beloved husband of the late Grace Bowman. Loving father of Fred, Ray and Kathy, Stu and Lisa, Doug and Laura, and David and Tammy. Cherished grandfather of 19 grandchildren and great-grandfather of 15 great grand-children. Dear mother of Michael (Betty) Morris of Fort St. John BC, Brian (Silvana) Morris of London, Barbara Morris (Marc Aston) of Toronto. Cherished Grandma of Kylie Morris, Shannon (Joshua) Blanks, Michael (Janice) Szucs, Jonathan Szucs and Taralin Szucs and great-grandchildren Helena, Evelyn,Michael and Mikaih. Predeceased by her sisters Louise Marlatt and Evelyn Geuder, her grandson Kevin Morris and her parents, Richard and Winifred Blake. Fran graduated from St. Joseph’s School of Nursing, London in 1942. Michael Kish Sr.
KISH, Michael (Mike) Sr….
It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of our father Michael (Mike) Kish Sr. in his 92nd year at Parkwood Hospital on Thursday, November 28th, 2013. Predeceased by his wife Kathleen (Kay) Kish on October 31st, 2013. Mike leaves behind his daughter Cathie (Perry) Kish, son Michael (Larysa) Kish Jr. Cherished grandfather of Jill (Brett) Kish. Dear brother of Rose (Gar) McCrae of Chatham. Predeceased by his parents Anna and Mihaly Kish, twin brothers Joseph & John Kish and infant sister Klarya. Mike joined the army in 1941, at Windsor, Ontario age 19 and entered WWII with the 48th Highlanders. Mike saw action in Northern Africa and Monte Cassino, Italy where he was seriously wounded multiple times. Captured by German soldiers he was hospitalized and later became a POW until the war ended and he was liberated in 1945. The family would like to Thank the 4th floor Veterans Care and 5th floor Palliative Care at Parkwood Hospital for their care and kindness to our father. In accordance with Mike’s wishes cremation has taken place. A celebration of our Father life will be announced at a later date. Passed away peacefully at Parkwood Hospital, London on Monday, November 25, 2013, Joanne Rodenburg (Ramondt) in her 91st year. Beloved wife of the late Paul Rodenburg (2001). Dear mother of Ina and her husband Doug, Ponoka; Ed, Edmonton; Frances and her husband Bob, Ottawa; Judy, Markham; John and his wife Andrea, Ottawa. Beloved Oma of Paul and his wife Katherine, Robb, Erin and her husband Heath, Laureen, Lindsay, Nicholas, Aaron, Mieke, Matt and his wife Kristy, Ben, Saskia, Sophie and Anna. Proud great-grandmother to Emmett and Jack.
Also survived by her daughter-in-law Laurie Hill, her sister Ineke in Holland and many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her son-in-law Bruce and five brothers and sisters. She was passionate about politics, sports, knitting, crosswords, and puzzles; she made the best apple pies in the world. Mom was the last surviving member of the generation of Rodenburgs and Ramondts who immigrated to Canada from Holland after WWII. Suddenly in London on Sunday, November 24, 2013, Donald Ross Featherston passed away in his 55th year. Loving father of Rikki-Lee Featherston. Beloved son of Jean Featherston and the late Donald Featherston (1990). Proud grandfather of Sprielyn Featherston Taylor. Dear partner of Carrie Casselman. Cherished brother of Lori Featherston. Dear uncle of Anthony Featherston and Brandon Wilson. Also missed by his extended family and friends. Dunster, Dorothy (nee Lawson) of London peacefully at Victoria Hospital, on Saturday, November 23, 2013 in her 93rd year. Beloved wife of the late Brian Dunster (March 2013) to whom she was married for 54 years. Beloved sister of Carrie Mitchell (and family) Victoria B.C. Dorothy was born in North Lancashire, England and became a Nursing Sister at the Royal Lancaster Infirmary. In 1948, she came to Canada and joined the staff at Old South Victoria Hospital, London and later became a Head Nurse in Obstetrics there. Dorothy appreciated a good joke and was known for her infectious laugh. She enjoyed travelling extensively with Brian. They frequented the Green Lantern Restaurant, London, where the staff and many patrons were good friends. Cremation and interment have taken place at Mount Pleasant Cemetery. A Celebration of Dorothy’s life will be held Sunday, December 1, 2013 from 2:00pm to 4:00pm at the A. Millard George Funeral Home Reception Centre (south east corner of parking lot) ,60 Ridout Street South, London, where a memorial tribute will be conducted at 2:00pm .
