Mom was the oldest child of William and Minnie Ethel McDougald (Carruthers), born in Swift Current, Saskatchewan and raised on a farm in Sceptre, Saskatchewan. After graduating from Victoria Hospital School of Nursing, London, Ontario, in 1943, Mom and Dad married and decided that grain farming in Saskatchewan was to be their life’s work. Having decided to raise their three girls in London, Mom and Dad spent their working years “suitcase farming” with summers spent by the family in Lemsford and Sceptre, Saskatchewan and winters in London. Although Mom made London her home, her heart forever remained on the prairies. Mom was a kind and generous person who gave so much of her time helping others. We want to express our heartfelt thanks to the wonderful staff at Village of Glendale Crossing for all of their kindness, care and compassion through Mom’s last years. We would also like to thank Mom’s special companion, Brittan, for being a bright light in Mom’s life. Your kindness will always be remembered. Being lifelong members of Church of St. Andrew Memorial, Mom was very appreciative of always being remembered by the Church community through their visits and flowers. Mom will be deeply missed by her family and friends. Visitation will be held at A.
