CUSHMAN, Kathleen “Kitty” ….. Passed away at the age of 80, with family at her side on Thursday June 11, 2015 at Victoria Hospital. Beloved wife of Murray Cushman. Loving mother of Van MacDougall (Pia Forsstrom) and stepmother to Barbara (Dennis) Bradley. Cherished grandmother of Sarah MacDougall and Anna (Jon-Rickard) S. MacDougall and step grandmother to Laura and Elizabeth Bradley. Proud Great-grandmother to Maja S. MacDougall and step great-grandmother to August Sorensen. Sadly missed by her sisters Marie Schroeder, Louise Straub, and Doreen Sawyer. Predeceased by her beloved puppy Mindy. Friends will be received by family at A. Robert “Bob” Henry
HENRY, Robert “BOB”…..
Peacefully at Victoria Hospital on Tuesday, June 9, 2015 in his 86th year. Beloved husband of Norma (nee Gray) for 56 years. Cherished father of Ronald and Dyanne (Glen). Loving Grandfather to Carling and Miranda. He will be missed by sister-in-laws Jean Beverly, Audrey Small and Shirley Livingston. After graduating from Beck Collegiate in London, he spent his entire working career with the London Life Insurance Company, and retired at the management level. He worked through the London Life in many cities including New York, Philadelphia, Montreal and Toronto. In 1977, he was selected to attend the University of Western Ontario executive management program and spent the summer in resident with senior executives from North and South America. He was also one of four Canadians to serve on an international computer systems research committee for a six year period. Bob gave freely of his time serving as an early director of Big Brothers of London, Past President of the Data Processing Management Association, executive member of the Community Watch program, and Past President of his Federal Political Riding Association. He served in a leadership capacity with an annual Cancer Society fund raising project, and was Past President of his condominium corporation. Bob joined St. George’s Lodge #42 in London in 1955, and the Mocha Shrine Temple in 1957. He was a very active member of the Mocha Shrine. After first joining the Mocha hospital entertainment committee where he showed films to the patients at the London Children’s Hospital, he served in a number of leadership positions with the Shrine and had the privilege of serving as Potentate in 1989. In 1999, he was awarded with the Shrine’s prestigious Thomas W. Melham Humanitarian Award. The family would like to extend sincere thanks to the staff at Victoria Hospital for their care and compassion. Friends will be received by the family at A. Passed peacefully surrounded by the love of her family at St. Joseph’s Hospice, London, on Friday, June 5th 2015. Margaret (Shields) Roy of London in her 93rd year. Beloved wife of the late John R. Roy (2006). Cherished mother of Mary Anne (Russell) Greenbeck, Susan Roy (Jay Rankin), Jane Roy (Glen Pearson) and Jennifer (Bill) Bellmore. Dear sister of Ted Shields and family. Loved by her grandchildren Jim, Jonah, John, Ater, Sam, Nicole, Abuk, Achan, Max and Madeline and her step-grandchildren Kathy, Kristy, Jordan and Kim and great-grandchild Anna Marie. Predeceased by her sister Helen (James) Hughes. Greatly missed by her many nieces, nephews, family and friends. Margaret graduated with a B.A. in 1950 from the University of Western Ontario and was a teacher for over 30 years at Blakelock High School in Oakville and Banting S.S. in London. Passed away on June 2nd, 2015 in his 40th year. Loving son of Nancy Boug (Taylor) of London and Joe Manuel of Dorchester and stepson of Elaine Manuel of Dorchester. Remembered by siblings Sheila Hyde (Sandy), Jason Manuel, Mary Anne Mills (Chris), Michael Taylor (Singing), Joe Manuel (Heather), Susan Taylor, Bill Taylor, Adam Manuel (Chantel), Ivan Manuel and Chad Manuel. SPENCER, Donald R. “Don”…
Who died unexpectedly at Victoria Hospital, London on May 28, 2015, was predeceased by the love of his life Marion (Clode) after nearly 50 years together in marriage. Don will be sadly missed by his family; David (Kathy) of London, Douglas (Sonia) of Stittsville, and Craig (Erin) of Toronto. Don found great joy in his grandchildren, Jennifer, Stefan (deceased in 1994), McKenna, Daniel, Smith, Zoe and Samuel. Born, raised and educated in Toronto, Don was a Boys Work Secretary at Toronto Central YMCA for 5 years followed by 10 years of service to Churches in Alberta, Northern Ontario and Scarborough. Following his interest in working with people, Don became a Probation Officer, retiring 26 years later as Director of Youth and Community Corrections for the Province of Ontario. In retirement, Marion and Don enjoyed travel, cottaging and especially their family. Don was a proficient canoeist, an enthusiastic birder and a lover of the outdoors. He led many church and community activities and supported numerous charitable causes. Friends will be received by the family at Metropolitan United Church, 468 Wellington St, London on Monday, June 1, from 2:00 to 4:00 pm and 6:00 to 8:00 pm. A Service of Remembrance and Thanksgiving will be held at Metropolitan United Church, on Tuesday, June 2, at 11:00 am. Interment at a later date at Mount Pleasant Cemetery in Toronto.
