Passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, at Victoria Hospital on Tuesday, January 19, 2016, in her 73 year. Loving mother of Peter (Karen) and Wanda (Grant). Cherished grandma of Whitney, Danielle, TJ and Angela. Aunty Mott will be missed by David and Michael. Sister of Bill, Sherrie, Eileen, Diane and Dawn. Predeceased by sister Jessie and brother James Jr..Friends will be received by the family at A. Joyce Elizabeth Linnen passed away peacefully with family at her side on Tuesday, January 19, 2016, at University Hospital, London, at the age of 82 years. Beloved wife of the late Leslie Linnen (2004). Loving mother of James (Debbie) and Robert (Linda). Predeceased by her little daughter Linda. Cherished grandmother of Christine, Vicki and Andrew, and great grandmother of Colton, Blake and Braydon. Sadly missed by her sister Helen, nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends. Predeceased by her sister Gwen. Joyce’s strength was an inspiration and she will be fondly remembered for her grace, humour and her appreciation of the finer things in life. Peacefully on January 15, 2016, at peopleCare Oakcrossing. Winnifred Louise Vaughan in her 97th year. Winn was predeceased by her parents Frederick and Helen (Smith) Vaughan and her sisters Mary Vaughan and Margaret Vaughan. Lovingly remembered by her “honorary” nieces and nephew Susan, Kathy, Carol and Greg of Nova Scotia and New Brunswick. She will be greatly missed by her many friends in both London and Nova Scotia, especially her London friends/caregivers Anne, Karyn and Marlene. Born in Port Williams, Nova Scotia, Winn graduated from Acadia University in Wolfville, Nova Scotia with a Bachelor of Science degree. She took her Dietetic Internship at Toronto Western Hospital. Winn was Head Dietitian at Brantford General Hospital from 1942-1954 and held a similar position at the hospital in Galt from 1954-1961. In 1961, Winn became Manager of Dietary Services at London Life Insurance Company and held that position for 22 years until she retired in 1983. Winn was a founding member of the Registered Professional Dietitians of Canada. She was a long time member of St. James Westminster Anglican Church. Winn belonged to the Highland Country Club for many years where she shared her love of golf and curling with the many friends she met there. Winn was a very social lady and enjoyed the company of both her lifelong and new-found friends. With some of these friends she went “birding” at Point Pelee for 22 years. In addition to enjoying bridge games with her friends over the years, Winn had a true joy of travelling and was fortunate enough to visit over a dozen different countries. In her retirement years, Winn took oil painting classes and had several of her paintings on display in her home. Winn had a wonderful sense of humor and an extremely positive attitude, both of which she maintained even when dealing with a number of health and mobility challenges in her later years. Special thanks to the staff of Grand Wood Park who helped Winn live life to the fullest during the six years she lived there. Thank you also to the staff of Red Oak, peopleCare Oakcrossing, for the good care given to Winn during the past year. It is with great sadness and heavy hearts we announce the passing of Kathleen (Philpott) Chowen in her 90th year on Friday, January 15, 2016. She was a resident at Chartwell Aylmer Long Term Care. She was beloved wife of the late Bruce Chowen (1998) and dear mother of Richard and Valerie Chowen of Port Lambton and Anne and Mark Bond of St. Thomas. Also loved by her 4 grandchildren Kathleen Rooke (Jordan), Lindsay Darlington (Wayne), Christopher Chowen (Christie) and Cameron Chowen (Caitlin) and great-grandmother to Lauren, Summer, Marina, Marcus and Lucas. Kathleen was a dear sister to Patricia Gunn of Toronto, sister-in-law of Glenn Chowen (Janet), Don Ecker and predeceased by Melva Ecker. Kathleen will be remembered by her family, extended family and friends. Friends will be received by family from 6-8 pm on Friday, January 22, 2016 at the A. After a lengthy battle against Parkinson’s Disease, Bob passed away on January 14, 2016. Bob was the beloved husband of Cassie (2010), father of John and Nancy Ticknor and Brenda and John Vouvalidis and grandfather of Michael and David Ticknor, and Ally Vouvalidis. Bob was proud to be a member of St. George’s Lodge No. 42 A.F. & A.M and a Mocha Shriner. He worked for 32 years at Kellogg’s Canada. Many thanks to Glendale Crossing – Pond Mills Neighbourhood support team. Cremation has taken place. Private interment in Forest Lawn Cemetery, London.
