Rene Adams
ADAMS, Rene….
Peacefully at the Village of Glendale Crossing in her 106th year, Rene Adams on Tuesday, February 12, 2019. Beloved wife of the late Donald E. Adams. Loving mother of Peter J. Adams and his wife Diana and Patricia L. Adams, all of London. Dear grandmother of David Tornabuono and his wife Susan, Lisa Stephenson and her husband Terry, Rose Vlemmix and her husband Ray, Kimberly Misic and her husband Jim, James Adams and his partner Leslie Habib and great-grandmother of Tyler, Shawna, Sarah, Danielle, Kyla and Cole. Predeceased by her 2 brothers Norman and Edwin Nitsche and her 3 sisters Kathryn Tuttle, Maryon Schmidt and Patricia Myers. Fondly remembered by nieces and nephews. Lorena was a dedicated member of St. Martin of Tours. She spent a little over 70 years as a member and past president of CWL and sang in the choir at St. Martin of Tours. Lorena was also a past president of Ladies Section of London Curling Club and a long-time member of Sunningdale Golf and Country Club. The family wishes to extend a sincere thank you to Dr. Andrew Whynot, the countless nurses and PSWs and Reverend Maureen Dwyer for the care, compassion and love that Rene received over the five years she spent at Glendale Crossing. Friends will be received by the family on Friday, February 15, 2019 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm, with prayers at 3 pm at the A. Millard George Funeral Home, 60 Ridout Street South, London. The funeral service will be conducted on Saturday, February 16, 2019 at 10:30 am in the funeral home chapel. Interment in St. Peter’s Cemetery, London. Mary MacDonald
MacDONALD, Mary (nee MacMullin)….
Mary passed away peacefully in London, Ontario on Sunday, February 10, 2019 in her 100th year. She was born in Sydney, Nova Scotia, the daughter of Agnes (nee MacDougall) and Joseph MacMullin.
Mary is survived by her four children; sons Roland (MaryAnne), Sandy, Cam (late wife Leslie), and her daughter Kyle and her husband John Franklin. She is also survived by many loving grandchildren, great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
Mary was predeceased by her husband Sam MacDonald (1978), and all of her siblings from Cape Breton, Nova Scotia; her sister Margaret, and her brothers Hughie, Benny, Jocus, Lawrence and Anslem.
Mary enjoyed wonderful friendships with so many people across North America. She wintered in Florida for over 30 years, and summered in Grand Bend, Ontario. Many of her friends – both Canadian and American – often came to visit in Ontario. She was a gracious hostess, a devoted friend and a loving mother with a passion for music and life, and she enjoyed a serious interest in politics – both in Canada and the US.
She spent her working life at BMO Bank of Montreal, and many of her closest friends were colleagues from her early days in Toronto. She enjoyed an extensive network of friends given her husband Sam’s military service as an RCR Captain.
She will be sadly missed by her friends and family. Special thanks to her family doctor, Dr. Ashtarani and his colleagues in Exeter and Stratford, and the amazing team of Caregivers from Home Instead Senior Care in London for their years of love, attention and care.
A Visitation and “Celebration of Life” will be organized in June, closer to Mary’s 100th Birthday. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Women’s Community House in London. Peacefully on February 7, 2019 in her 100th year Helen Clarke. Beloved wife of the late George Frederick Clarke (1982). Mother of Fred Clarke and his wife Angie of Arva, Jim Clarke of London, Karen Young and her husband Kirk of Calgary, Bob Clarke and his wife Nancy of St. Catharines. Grandmother of Collin (Vanessa), Adam (Melodie), Kyle (Zhen), and Kaelen. Great-grandmother of Pearl, Violet, Emma, and Brecken. Sister of the late Canon Sidney R. Lupton of London. Predeceased by her daughter-in-law Joan. “Mother” to many, known for her love of family, devotion to faith and passion for music. It is with heartfelt sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Joseph “Joe” Fabian at Parkwood Hospital, London on Sunday, February 3, 2019, in his 86th year with his family by his side. Beloved husband of Elizabeth Fabian for over 60 years. Predeceased by his siblings Ilonka, Imre, Ferenc, Laszlo, Gyorgy and Alex Fabian. Survived by his sister in law Frances Fabian. Unexpectedly on Monday, January 28, 2019, Nicole Popescu (nee Charlebois) in her 63rd year at University Hospital, London. Nicole was the beloved wife of Tom. Cherished mother of Stephanie and the late Christopher. Loving daughter of Clare Charlebois. Loyal sister to Mary, Christine and Denise. Dearest aunt of Tera, Kevin, Shawn, Sara, Rob, Amy, Gary, Ashley and Josh. Dedicated employee of Home Depot London South. Former Honorable Member of the Windsor Service Battalion. On January 27, 2019, Henry “Blair” Gibson passed away peacefully with loving family by his side. He was the last of his generation and joins his dear father Andrew, his cherished mother Eva, and beloved siblings Birrell and Phyllis. Born January 22, 1928, Blair grew up enjoying the country life with long, hard, character building days. Blair married Peggy (Toots) Darnell on September 9, 1950 enjoying family life together complete with dogs, cats, birds, fish and children. Known as “Shorty” by his many acquaintances through his fine work with George White’s, Western Tractor, Van Cross Farm Implements, Har-Dee Farms and Strathroy Foods. Survived by his three children Jeff (Brenda), Randy (Deanna), and Karen (Leo), his grandchildren Shaun, Kristen, Andrew, David, Michael, and great-granddaughter Evelyn. The family welcomes relatives and friends to visit at Komoka United Church, 110 St Lawrence Avenue, Komoka, from 10-11am on May 4, 2019 with a Celebration of Life for Blair to follow at 11am. Peacefully at the age of 91 on Saturday, January 26, 2019. Beloved husband of the late Marguerite (nee Marshman) Sexton (1999) and Barbara Sexton (2012). At Mount Hope Centre, London on Tuesday, January 22, 2019, Eleanor Lewis of London in her 97th year. Beloved wife of the late John Harold “Jack” Lewis. Eleanor leaves behind her two nephews Tom (Elizabeth) and Robert (Jean) Rae of Glasgow Scotland and their family. Dear cousin of Ronald (Shirley) Nickle. A special thanks to the staff and companions at Mount Hope. Eleanor graduated in the Glasgow Royal Infirmary and later nursed at Toronto Western Hospital and for 25 years she volunteered at Parkwood Hospital. Cremation has taken place. Grandmother of Ryan and his wife Leanne of Vancouver, Jessica of Ontario and step-grandmother of Kasey Sinnott of Victoria and Shea Sinnott of Toronto. Great-grandmother to Addison. Predeceased by siblings Mary Beart, Dudley Howarth, Sheila Majdalany, Elizabeth Hallifax all of England and daughter-in-law Maureen. Sister-in-law of Lillian May of London and of the late Margaret May of London, Bill May of Windsor and Ruth Reid of Sudbury. Also survived by several nieces and nephews. Peacefully surrounded by her family at University Hospital, London, on Monday, January 21, 2019, Dyan (née Cantin) French passed away at the age of 73. Dyan will forever be remembered by her husband of 51 years, Robert “Bob” and her children Carolynn Clark (Don) and Greg French (Lori). She will also be fondly remembered by her grandchildren Brienna and Naithan, her sister Lyse Charland (Leo), her brothers Jean-Pierre Cantin (Claudette) and Denis Cantin (Evelyn) and her numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and dear friends. Dyan was born in Quebec but lived in Ontario for most of her adult life. As a young woman she attended Fine Arts College and briefly studied interior design. As an adult she moved frequently with her family and relied on her design and decorating skills to transform each new house into a comfortable and welcoming home. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 23, 2019 from 6-8 p.m., at the A. Millard George Funeral Home, 60 Ridout Street South, London, Ontario and on Friday, January 25, 2019 from at 6-8 p.m. at Adams Funeral Home, 445 St. Vincent Street, Barrie, Ontario (just north of Cundles Road). A Celebration of Dyan`s life will be held in the Adams Funeral Home chapel on Saturday, January 26, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. Cremation has taken place. Spring interment in St. Patrick’s Roman Catholic Cemetery, Phelpston, Ontario.
