    NAGLE, James “Jim”
    Peacefully with family by his side at St. Joseph’s Hospice, London on Monday, January 13, 2020, James “Jim” Nagle passed away at the age of 68. Beloved husband of Marilyn Nagle. Father of Jamie Nagle (Courtney) of Edmonton, Jason Nagle (Lindsay) of Granton and Mark Nagle (Yana) of London and step father of Julie Cowan, Robert Lickman and Jeffrey Lickman. Grandfather of Ava, Jimmy, Ciarsten, Cameron, Anden, Aleah, Kegan, Mark and Morgan. Brother of Barb Jacobi (Bryce), Pat Nagle (Karen), and Mike Nagle (Delrae) and brother-in-law of Dennis Shepperd and Barry Browning. Will be missed by nieces, nephews and extended family. Predeceased by his parents Basil and Isabelle Nagle, sisters Janet Shepperd and Joan Browning and brother Michael Caza. Jim was an excellent athlete who especially enjoyed baseball and hockey. He was a kind, loving, patient and humble man, who was a great role model and father. Jim was loved by many of his brothers and sisters from Canada Post and a long-time member of the Canadian Corps. Friends are welcomed to celebrate Jim’s life on Saturday, January 18, 2020 from 1-4 pm at the Canadian Corps, 1051 Dundas Street, London, ON.     McKAY, Carroll Joanne….

    Carroll Joanne McKay of London, Ontario passed away peacefully at the Parkwood Palliative Care unit on Sunday, January 12, 2020, in her 79th year. Beloved sister of her twin, Sharon, London, Ontario, brother Ross McKay (Rebecca), London, Ontario and sister Janet Hoffman (Grant), Springside, Saskatchewan. Cherished Auntie of Jeremy (Joan), Jeffrey (Alana), Jonathon, Christopher (Stephanie), and Andrea (Christopher). Loved great-aunt of Jennabelle, Jossalyn, Keevie, Parker, Greyson, Spencer, Kenzie, and Addison. Born in London, Ontario, she was the daughter of the late Ross and the late Elsie McKay (Moore). Carroll was a devoted follower of her Lord Jesus. Her faith in God guided her in serving Him and encouraging others in a variety of ways, including foreign missionaries. For 41 years she was the secretary at Wortley Baptist Church until her retirement in 2005. Her relatives and friends will greatly miss her kind, cheerful spirit but are thankful she is now in her Saviour’s presence in heaven. Cremation has taken place. Relatives and friends will be received at the A. Millard George Funeral Home, 60 Ridout Street South, London on Friday, January 17, 2020 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. The Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday, January 18, 2020 at 2 pm at the Summerside Community Church, 1447 Commissioners Road East, London. Reception to follow.     ANDERSON, Joan Shirley…

    Peacefully on Saturday, January 11, 2020 at Sherwood Court, Maple.  Beloved daughter of the late Ronald and Clara Ellen Menzies of Goderich. Dear mother of Nancy Anderson of London, Holly Anderson and her husband James Maron of Richmond Hill and Robert Anderson of Edmonton. Also loved by her four grandchildren Amanda, Taylor, Samantha and Kathleen. Joan was a lady of strong heart and character; who conducted herself with dignity and class throughout her life. Joan worked at both Bell Canada, and Canada Trust as a customer service representative.  After retirement, mom traveled the world with friends, her favorite was an African safari.  Joan’s first and last love was horses.  As a teen she rode everyday.  These past years, her best days were visits to the local horse sanctuary.  Joan was a generous woman, giving her time in the IODE (Imperial Order Daughters of the Empire, a Canadian women’s charitable organization), and ensuring that her children had everything they could ever need.  Thank you for being such a good mom.     “A beautiful life came to a sudden end on Wednesday, January 8, 2020.”

    It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our son Jonathon Stewart of London. We, his parents Cindy (Rushton) and Paul Stewart, will never stop loving him, cherishing him and adoring him! He was our pride and joy. Jonathon leaves behind his Loving and Devoted Grandma and Papa, Ruth and John Rushton, of London and his Poppy, Harry Stewart of Elmira. He was predeceased by his much loved Nana, Gwen Stewart (2009). Jonathon will be sorrowfully missed by his Aunt Susie and Uncle Bob Schoen of Grayslake, Illinois and his Uncle Steven and Aunt Carol Stewart of Waterloo. He will be missed as well by his cousins, who were more like his brothers and sisters: Matt Schoen, Maura Schoen, Charlie and Melissa Schoen and their daughter Charlotte Ruth, Kelly and Tommy Doyle, and Jack Schoen all from the United States and Kyra Stewart of Waterloo. He will be missed by his extended family of the Stewarts and Rushtons. Jon had so many wonderful and special friends who enriched his life and we will be forever grateful to them. Jonathon was a graduate of Lambton College in the Fire Services Program (2019) and a huge sportsman. He played on the South Collegiate Football team, coached Junior Thunderbirds, played hockey and was a counselor for The Youth Hockey Ministries Program. He used to say “If you are not first, you are not trying!” He regularly used his many talents to assist ministries at Wesley Knox United Church. Cremation has taken place.  Visitation will be held for Jonathon at the A. Millard George Funeral Home, 60 Ridout Street South, London on Saturday, January 11, 2020 from 4-7pm.     Peacefully in his sleep at Kensington Village Long Term Care, London, on Saturday, January 4, 2020, Walter Frank passed away in his 78th year. Beloved son of the late Richard and Edith Frank. Survived by his siblings Mabel (the late Bill) Haycock, Gail (Joe) Verbeek, Peggy (the late Ken) Goodhue and Laurie (the late Ralph) Goodhue and sisters-in-law Lynn Frank and Mary Frank. Walter will also be missed by numerous nieces and nephews, extended family and his Kensington Family. Predeceased by his siblings and their spouses Betty (Jim) Jelly, Edith (George) Bennett, Norris “Sonny” Frank, Marilyn (George) dePapp, Ted Frank, Tom Frank, Georgie (Dave) Oliver and Robert Frank. The family wishes to send many thanks to the staff of Kensington who were told not to play favourites… but did. Another very special thank you to Fr.     ANCANS, Stanley…

    After a long and well lived life Stan Ancans passed away peacefully on Monday, December 30, 2019, at the age of 101. Beloved husband of the late Doris (Sage) Ancans. Predeceased by his siblings Vladis, Romualds, Helen and Victor and by his step-son Murray Thompson. Brother-in-law of Jean Ancans of London. Stan is fondly remembered by his niece Diane, and nephews Scott and Graham. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews in Canada and Latvia.
     
    Stan was born in Russia on April 11th 1918, as a refugee of the 1st W.W. Stan and his family were able to return to their native Latvia soon after the war to a farm near the city of Livani. Before leaving Latvia, Stan achieved an Engineering degree at The Academy of Forestry at Jelgava, in 1944. He emigrated to Canada in 1948, from Germany. After fulfilling a government farm labour service of one year Stan began working on building the city of Elliot Lake in Ontario with the firm of Marshall, Macklean and Monaghan Engineering (M, M&M, Eng.) as a land surveyor. Uranium ore was discovered here in large amounts. Stan next went to Northern Quebec as a land surveyor.

    Finally, Stan settled in London to work in 1966, helping to build highways 401 and 402 working for the Ontario Ministry of Transportation. Upon his retirement in 1983 Stan continued to stay active at Western with courses such as Astronomy and the languages. He also attended Gold’s Gym regularly. Stan was an active member of the Lativan community here in London, and an outdoors man whose hobbies were fishing and gardening. His beautiful Byron property received the City’s Trillium Award in the 80s. Stan will also be fondly remembered by his friends and family in both Canada and Latvia.

    Peacefully surrounded by family at home, on Sunday, December 29, 2019, Elsie Moorhead passed away in her 75th year. Beloved wife and best friend of Leonard Moorhead for 55 years. Devoted mother of David (Jill) Moorhead, Arlene (Liam) Maharaj and Julie (Steve) Kelly. Loving Nana of Nicholas, Emily, Benjamin, Wesley, Dawson, Paige and Noel. Dear sister of Ina (Wayne) Lawson, Noel (Irene) Laffin, Sheila (Mike) Fraser, Bobby (Nora) Laffin and Maud (Jim) Bingham. Elsie will be greatly missed by her brothers and sisters-in-law. Auntie Elsie will be sadly missed by many nieces and nephews. Elsie will be fondly remembered by extended family and friends at home and in Northern Ireland. Predeceased by her parents James and Jean Laffin. Elsie was a hard worker over the years and was thankful to have had great co-workers who turned into life-long friends. She enjoyed gardening and spending time in her greenhouse, she loved to travel, knit and was often found cheering on the London Knights, but most of all her favourite thing was being with her grandkids. The Moorhead family wishes to extend their thanks to Dr. Sugimoto and the amazing nurses at LHSC Cancer Clinic and 7th floor, the palliative care team for keeping her comfortable at home, and a special thank you to Dr. Adam Mutsaers, for his above and beyond care for Elsie. The family will receive guests for visiting on Sunday, January 5, 2020 from 2-4 pm at the A. Millard George Funeral Home, 60 Ridout Street South, London, as well as one hour prior to the funeral service being held in the chapel on Monday, January 6, 2020 at 1 pm.
