Beloved wife of the late Vasile Besliu and the late Alexandru Petrescu. Dear mother of Alexandrina Cristina Buciu and her husband Nicolae of Montreal and Elena Terek and her husband Paul Virgil of London. Also loved by her grandchildren Mircea Buciu, Cristian Peter Terek and Bogdan Alexander Terek and his wife Cristina Iulia and great-grandchildren Agnes Erica Terek and Julia Cecilia Terek. Dear sister of Olga Debeli and Dumitru Andries. Adela will also be sadly missed by her extended family in Romania. Dear mother of Lynda van Leeuwen and her husband Hans of Chatham, Sheila Grose, Marlene Grose, Myrna Schneider and her husband Greg all of London. Also loved by her grandchildren Greg van Leeuwen and Sari Anderson, Anne van Leeuwen and Molly and Amy Schneider. Dear sister-in-law of Gwen Grose, Hamilton and Audrey Hodgins and Don and Phyllis O’Neil all of Lucan. Marjorie taught school for many years in Middlesex and Elgin counties and was very active in the Retired Teachers of Ontario.     At Waverley Mansion, London on Thursday, January 16th, 2003, Mrs. Doreen Marjorie (Heenan) Merrifield of London in her 80th year. Beloved wife of the late George A. Merrifield. Dear mother of Scott Merrifield and his wife Patricia; Paul Merrifield and his wife Sophia and Brock Merrifield and his wife Heather all of London. Dear sister of Molly Hall and her husband Robert of Mayville, NY and Kathleen Heenan of London. Also loved by her grandchildren Lindsay, Kate, Gillian, Jane, Natalie, Anne and Grace. Dear Aunt of Pamela, Stephen and Susan. Doreen accomplished a lot in her life, and all would agree she was a fiercely loyal friend and a true character in her own right. Doreen and George opened Merrifield Bookshop in Woodstock, Ontario in 1972 and she continued operating the business until her retirement, returning to London to be with her family and active in the lives of her seven granddaughters. Born in Shaunavon, Saskatchewan, Doreen loved life – through her early years in Ingersoll, serving in the Air Force overseas, her career with the London Board of Education – and most of all, time spent at Woburn Abbey in Pike Bay.
