    After a lifelong quest for knowledge, C. Maria (Mies) van der Wel of London, Professor Emeritus at Huron College, passed into glory at St. Joseph’s Health Centre, London, on Saturday July 9th 2005 in her 88th year. She is survived by her brothers Thies van der Wel of Holland, John (Atie) VanderWel of Brampton, Leo (Nellie) Vanderwell of Burnaby B.C., Charles VanderWel of London, C. Frank (Corry) VanderWel of London; and her sisters Tineke Goodhand of the U.K., Helen (Tony) Barton of the U.S.A., and Trudy (Bert) Van der Hoek of London. Also survived by many nieces and nephews in Canada, U.S.A., U.K. and Holland. Predeceased by her brothers Willem (1955) and Douwe (1953). Friends will be received by the family from 2-4 and 7-9 P.M. Monday at the A. Millard George Funeral Home, 60 Ridout Street South, London. Memorial service will be held Tuesday July 12th at 11 A.M. at First Christian Reformed Church, 507 Talbot Street, London. Lewis (June 10, 2005): dear stepmother of R. Stanley (Loretta) Lewis of Toronto, and Leslie (Donald) Rathgeber of Red Deer, Alberta; step-grandmother of Debbie and Lincoln Lewis of Toronto, and Alan and David Rathgeber of Red Deer, Alberta. Kass will also be sadly missed by her sister-in-law, Gladys (Charles) Young; her niece, Patricia (Paul) Yaremko of Elora, her nephew, John (Roberta) Young of Delaware, and her grand nieces and nephews: Adriane Yaremko of London, and Shawn, Joe, Katrina, and Samuel Young of Delaware.
