    YELLAND
    George Yelland of London in his 82nd year peacefully passed away at London Health Sciences Centre, Victoria Hospital on Monday September 24, 2007. Beloved husband of 58 years of Jacqueline. Love and respected by his daughter Susan and her husband Jeff Kaye. Loving grandfather of Benjamin and his fianceé Sophie; and Rachael. Dear brother of Joyce and her husband Aubrey Younger and brother-in-law of Ginette Snell and Gwen Vanderveken. Fondly remembered by his cousins, nieces and nephews and their families in England. Predeceased by his son Peter (1972) his parents Florence and William, parents-in-law John and Gorgette Vanderveken, brother Eric and sisters-in-law Joyce and Florrie and brothers-in-law Ray, Fernie and René. George came from England in 1956 to ply his trade of tool and die maker. Although he retired he kept busy fixing various items or making special pieces for friends. He was involved in amateur dramatics, various choirs and the Gilbert and Sullivan Society. Cremation has taken place. The family will receive friends from 7-9pm on Wednesday October 3rd at the A. Millard George Funeral Home, 60 Ridout Street South, London. A memorial service will be held at St. Michael & All Angels Anglican Church 397 Springbank Drive, London on Thursday October 4, 2007 at 11am. Inurnment in Woodland Cemetery.     Peacefully surrounded by her loving family at the Dearness Home, London, on Wednesday, September 19th, 2007, Ameila (Doman) Brooks, in her 91st year, passed into the presence of her Lord. Beloved wife of Norman Brooks for 61 years. Loving mother of Donald Brooks and his wife Carol of Port Franks, Doug Brooks, Margaret Robichaud and her husband Wayne and Janice Brooks all of London. Proud grandmother of Carey (Tamsyn), Nate (Melissa), Jenna, Jasmine (Cris), Jeremy (Nicki), Jessica, Devon and the late Shawn (1986). She will also be missed by her 4 great-grandchildren. Predeceased by her sisters Grace, Nita, Audrey and her brother Chester. Amelia was a Charter Member (1960) of Glen Cairn Baptist Church and Nursery Superintendent for many years. She was a gracious hostess to many dignitaries associated with Norman’s presidency of London Home Builders Association. Amelia was a stay-at-home Mom with legendary cooking prowess, whose life revolved around her family. Friends will be received by the family from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Thursday, at the A. Millard George Funeral Home, 60 Ridout Street South, London, where the celebration of Amelia’s life will be held in the chapel on Friday, September 21, 2007 at 3:00 p.m. Amelia’s nephew Reverend Robert A. Norris from Florence, South Carolina will officiate. Interment will be later in Zion Cemetery. As an expression of sympathy, memorial donations may be made to the Glen Cairn Baptist Church – Library Fund, 345 Pond Mills Road, London ON N5Z 3X7.
