    Thelma Mahadeo of London peacefully passed away at Waverley Mansion on Friday July 4, 2008 in her 88th year. Wife of the late Ronald Mahadeo. Dear mother of Ron Mahadeo and his wife Beverley of Brampton, David Mahadeo and his wife Fran of London, Urmila Smith of Stratford, Mark Mahadeo and his wife Donna of Texas. Loving grandmother of Indrani, Ginny, Gregory, Meaghan, Zachary, Jason, Allana, Alexandra, and Marcus. Loving sister of Norma, Doreen, and Bunty. Predeceased by her brothers Harry, John, Louis, and Ken and her daughter Tara. Thelma will be sadly missed by many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.     Unexpectedly, but peacefully, in his favorite spot at the family cottage in Port Stanley, on Thursday July 3, 2008, George B. Weekes one week shy of his 84th birthday. Beloved husband of Veronika (Lenz). Predeceased by his first wife Edith “Edie” (1992). Loving father of Judy Weekes-Walker (Paul) of Holt, Michigan and Carol Weekes Schacter (Gordon) of London. Cherished “Boppa” of Alyson VanSickle (Sam) of Tecumseh, Michigan and great-grandfather of Riley VanSickle. Dear brother of June Bell (Chas) of St. Thomas. Brother-in-law of Ingrid Freisinger (George) of Aylmer, Rick Lenz (Pat) of St. Thomas, and Bernhard Lenz (Renate) of Berlin, Germany. Dearly loved uncle of his many nieces and nephews. Fondly remembered by many relatives and friends whom he nicknamed throughout the years. George served in the Canadian Armed Forces, overseas, where he entertained troops in the Canadian Army Shows during World War II. As an accomplished trumpet player he played in many bands, including the Johnny Downs Orchestra, where he was often heard playing at the Stork Club in Port Stanley. Recently George and the members of the Johnny Downs Orchestra, were the first to be inducted into The Stork Club Big Band Museum and Hall of Fame. George ran the Fred J. Weekes and Son Insurance Agency in London for over 50 years following his father’s retirement. He was a lifelong member of the Union Lodge No. 380 A.F. & A.M. of London. George happily spent his winters with his wife in North Fort Myers, Florida. Cremation has taken place. A memorial gathering to celebrate George’s life will be held at the family cottage on Saturday July 12, 2008 from 2:00 to 5:00 pm in Port Stanley. In keeping with George’s style and tradition “keep it casual”.     At Parkwood Hospital – Veterans Care on Friday, June 27, 2008 Stewart Y. Marr of London in his 98th year. Loving husband of the late Margaret A. (Cornell) Marr (1994). Dear father of Richard and his wife Judith Marr of Cobble Hill, B. C. and Kathy and her husband Joe Byway of Thamesford, Ontario. Also loved by his grandchildren Stephen, Trevor, Meagan, Sarah and Jennifer and six great grandchildren. Born November 26, 1910 in Edmonton, AB. Stewart came to Waterdown, ON with his family in 1913, graduated in Pharmacy from U of T in 1934, serving the public of London and St. Thomas as a Pharmacist with Standard Drug Ltd, and finally at Marr-Sharpe Pharmacy, Dundas Street East, London for over 50 years. With distinction in WW11, he served with the Canadian Service Corps from 1942 until returning to Canada in 1948, as a Captain. He then served in the Military Reserve as a Major until 1965. Stewart was a member of the London Chapter of the Masonic Order and an active golfer until his 90th year. At Stewart’s request there will be no funeral service. Arrangements entrusted to A.
