KELLIE, Nora……Passed away peacefully at McGarrell Place Nursing Home, London on Sunday, October 11, 2009, Nora (Ellison) Kellie in her 84th year. Beloved wife of the late Alexander “Sandy” Kellie. Dear mother of Sandra Foster, Irene Carlson, Lauren Le Bel and her husband Fred and Janice Tremeer all of London. Dear sister of Gilbert Ellison and Margaret Coid and her husband West all of England. SPETTIGUE, Eunice……Passed away peacefully at McGarrell Place Nursing Home, London on Saturday, October 10, 2009, Eunice A. Spettigue in her 96th year. Beloved daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Spettigue. Predeceased by her sister Elizabeth Joynt (1964), Margaret Blaine (2007), Diane Emery (1998) and Lillian Park (Coates) (2009) and by her nephew Kenneth Coates (2002). Dear aunt of Dr. Robert Coates and his wife Elva of London, C/Supt. Donald Coates (Ret’d) and his wife Lois of Forest, Dr. Paul Coates and his wife Therese of London, Mrs. Elizabeth Coates of Wellington, Ontario, Cmdr. Thomas Blaine (Ret’d) and his wife Terry of Hamburg, New York, Mrs. Barbara Langdon and her husband George of Avon Park, Florida and Mrs. Carolyn Lamar and her husband Charles of Frisco, Colorado. Loving aunt of many great nieces and nephews and numerous great-great nieces and nephews. Eunice has been devoted to her strong Christian beliefs, a life long member of Calvary United Church where she initiated a nursery school and lead a CGIT group. Her extended family wishes to acknowledge the care provided by Grandview Lodge and more recently at McGarrell Place. JOHNSON: Betty

At Victoria Hospital, London, on Saturday, October 10, 2009, after a brief battle with cancer, Bettyann Blanch (Cooper) Johnson of London in her 80th year. Beloved wife and best friend of Verne Johnson. Loving mother of Jeff and his wife Joyce, of Stratford; and Nancy McCurdy of Toronto. Sadly missed by her grandchildren Cole and Caitlyn Johnson and Evan and Jenna McNamara. Dear sister of Nellie Cooper, Nettie Sharp and her husband Allin of London and Tom Cooper and his wife Jean of St. Thomas. Predeceased by her son-in-law Daniel McCurdy, her sisters Muriel Archer and Ila Cooper and her parents Cecil and Annie (Williams) Cooper of Springford. Betty worked many years at The Bank of Commerce in Tillsonburg and Woodstock, and later with Verne in the insurance business. She enjoyed golfing, playing cards, watching hockey, and spent many happy years of retirement at their cottage in Dorset. Cremation has taken place. Friends will be received by the family at the A. London from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday October 15th, and from 12 noon to 1 p.m. Friday October 16th followed by a memorial service at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel. JOLLIMORE, Evelyn Lorna

The heaven’s have another star, one of seven sisters. On Saturday, October 10, 2009 Evelyn Lorna (Fisher) Jollimore in her 90th year. Loving and proud mother to her four daughters, Jackie Wilson (Jim), Stephanie Bowman (Pete), Lesley Tchorek (Frank) and Wendy Durnin (Doug). Treasured and missed Nanny of Erin (Todd), Jennifer (Jay), Andrew (Jammie), Jeremy (Jess), Dylan, Alecia, Ryan and Emma, and great Nanny of Ethan, Ellie, Mitchell, Paige, and Alyssa. Also, missed by her beloved dog Rosie. Predeceased by her bothers Bob, Charlie, Horace and sisters Lil, Flo, Glad, Rose, Iris and Elizabeth (Infant). Beloved Auntie & Great Auntie to her nieces & nephews in England, distant in miles but not in her heart. Special friend to Kay, Pat, Fran, Mary, Isobel, Joy, Joan, Marianne. During the war effort Eve worked for a pharmaceutical factory, other occupations in England included: working for the civil service, as an operator, and later as a teletypist for the Western Union. Mom was a retiree from Northern Telecom, and after her retirement a supportive member of the Bell Pioneers. She loved to travel and sing; as a long time member of the London Sweet Adelines she enjoyed both. She was also an accomplished ballroom dancer, honing her skills on the dance floors of wartorn England. Mom loved to knit & was seldom without her needles. She was also a gifted needlepoint artist. She was a supportive, caring, devoted mother to her family with a special place in her heart for all creatures, especially her dogs. She loved her summers at Lake Huron, spending her past seven summers at Greenhaven Trailer Park, Grand Bend. Special thanks from the family to the caregivers on Lawson Lane, at McGarrell Place Longterm Care Facility, London, and her exceptional personal caregivers, from Helping Hands Plus inc. Cremation has taken place. Friends will be received by the family on Friday, October 16, 2009 from 3-5 and 7-9 pm at the A. MURPHY: Bea
Beatrice Cavell (Rose) Murphy in her 93rd year. At University Hospital, London, on October 8, 2009, peacefully, in her daughter’s arms. Loving mother of Shawne Murphy and her husband, Frank Capitano. She will be fondly remembered by Margaret, Scott and Zachary Lindsay of London, Katherine Capitano of Toronto, Betsy Capitano and Alec and Sarah Fiszauf of Brantford, her sister-in-law Bonnie McQuaid of Oshawa and many nieces, nephews and friends. Predeceased by her parents Orpha (Shain) and Joseph Rose and her siblings, Eleanor, Lloyd, Donald and Mae. Bea was raised on a farm in Clarkson and moved to Oshawa as a young woman to train as a nurse. She was a member of the 1940 graduating class at Oshawa General Hospital and had a long and distinguished nursing career in Oshawa. In retirement, she moved to London to be near her daughter. She resided at Masonville Manor, Longworth Retirement Home and most recently, McCormick Home. Bea had a lifelong commitment to helping others and was active in many volunteer organizations, including St. Paul’s Daily Bread program, Friendship-in-Action and Ronald McDonald House. She was a member of St. Luke’s the Evangelist Anglican Church. She will be remembered for her humour, resilience and enthusiasm for life. Bea was blessed with good health for 91 years. Millard George Funeral Home, 60 Ridout Street South, London from 7 to 9 pm Monday, October 12th and 12 noon to 1 pm Tuesday October 13th where the funeral service will be conducted in the chapel, at 1:00 pm.
