    After a brief and courageous battle with cancer at University Hospital, London on Sunday, December 20, 2009 Dean Dickson Shavalier in his 70th year. Beloved husband of Cheryl Shavalier for 30 years. Loving father of Keri Manningham and her husband Joe of Hamilton, Drew Shavalier and his wife Linda of Hamilton and Dean Shavalier and his wife Sarah of Petawawa. Sadly missed by his grandchildren Kayln, Kyle, Kaleb, Dean, Devin, Ryan, Paige and Hayley. Also missed by his sister-in-law Karen Leeder and several extended family members. A native Londoner, Dean was active in broadcast journalism for many years in London and Southwestern Ontario. Friends will be received by the family on Wednesday, December 23, 2009 from 1:00 – 3:00pm at Wesley-Knox United Church, 91 Askin Street, London where the memorial service will be held at 3:00pm with Reverend Graham Bland officiating.     At Kensington Village Nursing Home, London on Sunday, December 20, 2009 William “Glen” Laurence Stewardson in his 87th year. Beloved husband of the late Shirley Inez (Drennan) Stewardson (2002). Dear father of John Stewardson and Norraine Galloway and her husband Dale. Loved grandfather of Brandee, Michael, Matthew and Justin Stewardson and Andrea Kuntz and husband Jamie and Alison Galloway and fiancee Mike Hunter. Dear brother of Don Dellow and his wife Donna. Special uncle to many nieces and nephews and in-laws. Predeceased by 1 brother and 1 sister. Friends will be received by the family on Tuesday, December 22, 2009 from 7-9 pm at the A.   • Frances Elizabeth Mennie

    MENNIE, Frances Elizabeth……Died peacefully in her sleep in her 87th year on Wednesday, December 16, 2009 at Horizon Place Residence, London. Predeceased in 1994 by her husband of nearly 50 years, John A. (Jack) Mennie. She will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by her children, Lin Tibensky (Mike), Peter Mennie (Milly Ann) and grandchildren, Mike Tibensky (Sherry Olan), Laura Hansen (Chris), Sarah Mennie, Graham Mennie and great-grandson Jackson Hansen, all of London. Born in Cobourg, Ontario, she was the eldest daughter of Curry Proctor Ralls and Marion Brown Hogg. She will be loved and remembered by her sisters, Jean Mark (Charles) of Port Hope, Shirley Parkinson (Herb) of Whitby and cousin Dr. G.E. (Ted) Mann (Joyce) of Bowmanville and their families. Fran loved tea in the afternoon and playing bridge. She was a longtime active member of I.O.D.E., Dr. David Crombie Chapter and was greatly admired by family and friends for her skill at needlework. Beloved mother of Pam Tunks (Rod) of Ilderton. Dear grandmother of Rob Tunks (Tracy), Erica and Allison Marucci all of London. Predeceased by her husband Gil, her daughters Cathy Dean and Janis Marucci (Dean), her brothers Max and Ken Norton and her sisters Audrey Bentley and Evelyn Lee. Survived by her sister-in-law Marion Norton and many nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends at the A.     Peacefully at Victoria Hospital, London, on Saturday, December 12th, 2009, Kenneth Frederick Haughton of London in his 87th year. Beloved husband of Kathy (Cregan) Haughton for 59 years. Loving father to Rory Haughton and his wife Brenda of London and Kim Wolff and her husband John of Ingersoll. Proud grandfather to Shaun Haughton of London, Shannon Jordan and her husband Robert of St. Thomas, Shayla and Braxton Wolff both of Ingersoll. Cherished great-grandfather to Ayden Echo Jordan. Dear brother to Douglas Houghton and his wife Anita of Maple Ridge, B.C. and Sheldon Houghton and his wife Isobel of West Covina, California. Predeceased by his parents Alexander and Helena Haughton and his Sister Jean. Will also be sadly missed by many nieces and nephews. Ken served in the Canadian Armed Forces for 37 years with stints in Europe, Germany and Egypt, his last and final posting being London. Later he worked at the London Gardens for many years. He enjoyed playing and running his two Bridge clubs. Kudos to all his Bridge members, saying “Thanks for the memories, we’ll meet again”. At Ken’s request a donation will be made in his name to the “Victory Legion Branch”. Special thanks to all professional staff who helped ease Ken’s last days on the 6th floor of Westminster Campus.     We are sad to announce that J. Clark Campbell of London, Ontario passed away at Parkwood Hospital on Tuesday December 8, 2009 in his 83rd year. Dear father of Chris (Rich) of Buffalo, Eric (Carolyn) of Toronto and Carol (Gary) of Ottawa. Loving grandfather of Sarah, Paula, Gavin, Bennet and Liam. Predeceased by his parents William Clark and Ermine Irene, sister Margaret Cecilia Fallier and brother Robert Arthur. Clark was a longtime Mason, amateur radio operator, pilot, storyteller and dog lover. The family would like to thank Clark’s friends for their support and the dedicated staff of Parkwood and Victoria Hospitals for their compassionate care.
