  • Francis Anthony Denomy

DENOMY, Francis Anthony…….The angels saw you were weary, so Jesus took your hand and said, “Come on Frank, your work here is finished”. Dad passed away March 7, 2012 at University Hospital from complications of a stroke. Frank was born on October 27, 1930 in Detroit, Michigan, and is survived by his wife of 60 years, Dorothy, his children Peter (Brenda), Michael (Ellen), Kathy Morris, David (Kathy), Stephen (Manon) and Mary McBean (Jim). Also survived by his sisters, Angela and Ursula, 12 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. Predeceased by his parents Adolph and Mary Denomy and siblings Margaret, George and Wilfred. Dad retired from McKerlie Automotive in 1995, after over 40 years of dedicated service, and though he liked to work, he was looking forward to retirement. He spent many happy hours fishing on his boat, watching NASCAR on TV, “hunting” from a certain “cabin” in the Bruce, and fixing anything that needed fixing. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and special friend to many who knew he could be counted on to help out in a pinch. When things got tough, or friends passed on, he rationalized it using his favourite saying. He’d say, “Well, how long is a piece of string? When you pull it through your hand and the end comes out, that’s all there is.” Well, we wish his piece of string was just a little longer. Special thanks to the Stroke team at University Hospital Emergency. You gave Dad a chance. Also many thanks to the Doctors, Nurses and staff on the 7th Floor, who helped us through very trying times, and the Nurses and staff on the 6th Floor, who accompanied him on his final journey. God bless you all. Friends will be received by the family from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm on Friday, March 9, 2012 at the A. Millard George Funeral Home, 60 Ridout Street South, London where the funeral service will be held in the chapel on Saturday, March 10, 2012 at 1:00 pm. Interment at a later date. In Lieu of flowers, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society, 123 George Street, London, Ontario N6A 3A1 or to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, 150-633 Colborne Street, London, Ontario N6B 2V3 would be appreciated.Online condolences at www.amgfh.com
