WELBURN, Donalda Jean…..Peacefully at Victoria Hospital on Friday, December 7, 2012. Jean Welburn in her 82nd year. Beloved wife of the late Harry (2006). Loving mother of Peggy (Glenn). Dear mother-in-law of Jenny. Proud Granny of Richard (the late Gail), Mike (Diane) and Sarah (Drew). Cherished Great-Grams of Hayley, Spencer, Kayla, Adam (Clair), Connor and Daniel. Dear sister of Helen Griffith and Peggy Zubyk. Predeceased by her son Fred (2007), her sisters Marlene May and Catherine Jones, her brothers Frank Mac Connell and Fred Mac Connell. Donald Matthew Gourlay
GOURLAY, Donald Matthew….Donald M. Gourlay of London in his 84th year. At University Hospital, London on Thursday, December 6, 2012 surrounded by his loving wife of 63 years Donna Jean (Rider), his six sons and daughters-in-law. Proud father of Michael of Toronto, John (Cathy) of Thorndale, Peter (Barbara) of Catham,Paul (Barbara) of Yellowknife, N.W.T., Jeffrey (Deborah) and Steven all of London. Proud grandfather of Carl (Melissa), Reid, Eric (Heidi), Fraser (Alexa), Andrew (Marielle), Laura (Josh Stevenson), Christina, Freyja (Jim), Ben, Joyce and Julie Gourlay and his great-grandchildren Katelyn, Gus and Hayley. Dear brother of Mary Yates of Ingersoll and brother-in-law of Jean Gourlay of Winnipeg. Also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins. Predeceased by his brother Jim Gourlay. Don loved farming and equipment and was a John Deere Dealer at Gourlay Equipment Centre and Green Acres. He was a cub leader from 1956-1968. Don was a member of the Woodstock Flying Club. Don and Donna loved the square and round dance movement and ballroom dancing. They were executive members of several dance clubs throughout over 40 years of dancing. He loved golf, camping, boating and spending time with his sons and their families. He was an active member at Centennial United Church and Wesley-Knox United Church. Fred Stevens Foote
FOOTE, Fred……Frederick Stevens Foote, 88, passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 15, 2012, at University Hospital, London Ontario. Beloved husband of Eve Hoffmann-Foote. Fred is survived by his only child – Catherine. Dear step-father of Frank, Paul, Rosalie, Cathy, and Evelyn, and by his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother Albert Foote (Iris) and sister Alice McKinley (Jack) and predeceased by both his sister Emeline Oulton and her husband Ralph. Fred was a dear uncle to his many nieces and nephews. Born in New Glasgow, Nova Scotia, he was the eldest child of the late George and Mary Foote of Merigomish, Nova Scotia. Fred grew up on the Maritime farm that has been in his family for 13 generations. He attended Dalhousie University after high school and went on to become a pilot for the Royal Canadian Air Force. When the war ended he moved to Subury, Ontario where he married the late Edith Gardner. Fred worked as a scientist for INCO until accepting early retirement. Fred married the late Evelyn Schaffer. During their marriage they travelled a great deal and Fred was very active in the church as well as in the community – as both a Mason and a Shriner. The family would like to thank the staff at Extendicare and the Williams’ family for their support. Friends will be received by the family from 2-4pm, on Tuesday, November 20, 2012, at the A. Millard George Funeral Home, 60 Ridout Street South, London. A Masonic Service under the auspices of London Daylight No. 735 A.F. & A.M will be conducted at the funeral home at 4pm. The funeral service will commence immediately following the Masonic Service, with Reverend Ed Hoeskra officiating. Cremation with inurnment in Mount Pleasant Cemetery, London – at a later date.
