  • Marjorie Lenore North

    NORTH, Marjorie (Lister)…Marjorie Lenore (Lister) North left this life on July 24, 2012 in her 99th year to join her beloved husband Albert (A.K.) North. “Auntie Margie” will always be cherished by her 3 nieces: Lynda (Tom) McKean, Marilyn (Peter) Ferguson, Barbara (Randy) Elrick, her nephew Bob (Carla) Fallis, her 11 great nieces and nephews and 15 great great nieces and nephews. Marjorie graduated from the University of Western Ontario in 1935 with a B.A. and spent her professional life at the London Life Insurance Company. Her love of the arts led her to the London Little Theater where she acted and directed. Marjorie and Albert were supporters of the London Symphony and her Alma Mater UWO. “You were our role model and our rock. You will always be with us. Be at rest wonderful lady.” Marjorie’s family wishes to thank the staff of Grandwood Park and McGarrell Place for their support and compassionate care. At Marjorie’s request there will be no service.     MARTINDALE, Charmian…On Tuesday July 24th, 2012, at Parkwood Hospital in London Ontario after a long and courageous battle Charmian Martindale peacefully passed away in her 68th year. Predeceased by her beloved husband Terry. Loving mother of Stacey and her husband Andrew, Sheramey and her husband Abner, Kasta, and son in law Steve. Charm will be sadly missed by her sister Sharon, brother Paul, and her grandchildren: Brandon, Brittney, Teagan, Braeden, and Kaelyn. Friends will be received by the family on Sunday, July 29, 2012 from 1:00 – 2:00 pm at the A. Millard George Funeral Home, 60 Ridout Street South, London where the funeral service will be conducted in the chapel at 2:00 pm. Cremation has taken place.     Peacefully at University Hospital, London on Monday, July 23, 2012 Mary P. O’Neil-Robinson. Beloved wife of the late William E. Robinson (2003). Dear sister of Charles O’Neil and his wife Roberta of Oakville and her step son Brock Robinson (Rosemary). Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents Charles and Florence O’Neil, her sisters Theresa O’Neil and Catherine Semkowski and her brother Curry O’Neil. Mary was born in Moncton New Brunswick and worked for many years as Secretary to the Director of the Ontario Cancer Clinic in London. Friends will be received by the family on Thursday, July 26, 2012 from 9:00 – 10:00 am (1 hour prior) at the A. Millard George Funeral Home, 60 Ridout Street South, London where the funeral service will be conducted in the chapel on Thursday at 10:00 am with Father Pio D’Oria celebrant.     Linda Grace (Haskell) Eramian died peacefully at the Palliative Care Unit of The London Health Sciences Centre (Victoria Campus) in London, Ontario on Wednesday, July 18, 2012 in her 65th year after a very difficult, lengthy battle with cancer. Beloved and devoted wife of Dr. Gregory Michael Eramian for 42 years. Loving mother of Dr. Mark Eramian and his wife Nicole of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan and Dr. Laura Eramian and her husband, Dr. Peter Mallory of Halifax, Nova Scotia. Dear grandmother of Julia and Hannah of Saskatoon. Survived also by her brother, Dr. John D. Haskell, Jr. and his wife Mary of Williamsburg, Virginia, her sister-in-law Jeanette Eramian of Providence, Rhode Island, and her niece, Sarah Edgecombe of Charlotte, North Carolina. Linda was born on March 15, 1948 in Providence, R.I. She received her B.A. in English and French from Rhode Island College in 1969. Linda worked as a textile science laboratory assistant at Brescia College, London, Ontario from 1971 – 74. She was also employed by the Thames Valley District School Board as a library assistant at Mountsfield Public School (1991-99) and the former Oxford Park Public School (1995-99) She also volunteered in the library at Mountsfield for over 20 years, including several years after her retirement. Linda’s family was the centre of her life, and she will be remembered by them for her love of books and reading, walking, gardening, and singing along with her CDs while cooking and baking in her kitchen. She loved many types of music ranging from Baroque to the Beach Boys, Motown and Broadway. Linda was also known for her epic poems written for family and friends on the occasions of their milestone birthdays or retirements. Linda and Greg enjoyed travelling with their family and watching Mark and Laura enjoy the beach in Rhode Island or a resort in Ontario. Her children and granddaughters brought great joy to her life. When Greg and Linda became empty nesters, they loved nothing more than viewing spectacular scenery, whether Yosemite National Park, Hawaii’s verdant cliffs by helicopter, Outer Banks beaches, the Golden Gate Bridge, the magnificent Canadian Rockies or Alaskan glaciers. They marvelled at all these things together and never tired of each other’s company. It was also Linda’s great pleasure to hold dinner parties for friends. Her guests seemed to look forward in particular to her desserts. Linda may have been quiet and shy in groups, but many friends and strangers alike remarked upon her warm, sunny smile and good nature, especially throughout her many health problems. She always remained optimistic, hopeful, and courageous. She will be profoundly missed by her family and all who knew her. Linda was grateful to be in the care of her compassionate and knowledgeable physicians, including Dr. Deborah Josephson (UWO Staff/Faculty Clinic), Dr. Diane Logan (LRCP), Dr. Ward Davies (LHSC University Campus, Dr. Chris Bailey (LHSC Victoria Campus), Dr. Alex Hammond (LRCP), Dr. Shiraz Malik (LHSC Victoria Campus) as well as Nancy Fulton, R.N. (LRCP). Her family will never forget their professionalism, support and kindness. At Linda’s request there will be no funeral service. Visitation will be at the A. Millard George Funeral Home, 60 Ridout Street South, London on Friday, July 27, 2012 from 2 – 4 pm. Private interment.     After a long battle with cancer, Maria Do Carmo Pacheco passed away peacefully in her sleep, at Victoria Hospital, London on Wednesday, July 18, 2012 in her 84th year. Beloved wife of the late Guilherme A. De Sousa. Dear mother of Carmen Perkin (Jason) and Ana Hubbard (Paul Reigota) all of London. Loved grandmother of Sarah, Emily and Drake. Dear sister of Armanda and Jose Elidio. Also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Predeceased by 2 sisters and 2 brothers. Friends will be received by the family on Friday, July 20, 2012 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at the A. Millard George Funeral Home, 60 Ridout Street South, London. The funeral mass will be held from Holy Cross Parish, 10 Elm Street (at Hamilton Road) on Saturday, July 21, 2012 at 9:30 am with Father Luiz Carlos Pinheiro celebrant.   • Reverend Stanley McKenzie Hammond

    HAMMOND, Reverend Stanley McKenzie…At Country Terrace Nursing Home, Komoka on Monday, July 16, 2012 Reverend Stanley M. Hammond in his 93rd year. Beloved husband of the late Evelyn Hammond (1994). Dear father of David E. Hammond and his wife Karen of Barrie and S. Elizabeth Brown and her husband Earl of Delaware. Also loved by grandchildren Joel (Adrianne), April (Don), Aaron (Debbie), Christopher and Andrew and seven great-grandsons, who he adored and gave him so much joy. Loving brother of Robert Hammond, John (Margaret) Hammond, Marjorie Stewart and Christina Dickson. Predeceased by his sister Dorothy Brydon. Stanley immigrated to London, Ontario in 1959 and was Pastor of Faith Tabernacle on Richmond Street. In 1964 he was ordained into the Apostolic Church of Canada and moved to Peterborough and then Toronto and then finally retired in Delaware, Ontario. He was a member of the Board of Directors at Elim Bible School, Lima, New York. His missionary work took him to many places including Nigeria, Brazil and Australia. Dad travelled and preached until he was in his late 80’s, his feet firmly on the ground and his heart planted in the word of God. We can but thank the Lord for the grounding that was shared with us. His love of classical music and his talents playing the violin were enjoyed by many. He was an Associate and Licentiate of Trinity College of Music. We love you and miss you Dad, many thanks to the nursing staff and Dr. Whynot of Country Terrace for their care and dedication.     Without warning on Tuesday, July 3, 2012, Graham earned his angel wings. His smile and sense of humour will be forever missed by best friend and wife Sheila and bichons Hamilton and Odin Hamish. Graham will also be missed by his dad Merle, siblings Cameron (Laurel), Jason (Eva), Joe (Michelle), Niki, Karen (George), Jeff (Tineke) and all of his nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his mother Gene. Graham was a dedicated member of the Carling Heights Optimist Club and a season’s pass holder at Delaware Speedway. He loved being a mall Santa and was a friend to those in need. His generous nature, love of life and gentle spirit will be remembered by his family and many friends. We have beautiful memories left.
