DENNIS, Shirley……

Peacefully at Victoria Hospital, London, after a brief illness on Friday, June 13, 2014, Shirley M. (Howson) Dennis of Lambeth, in her 90th year. Beloved wife of the late William “Bill” Dennis (1995). Dearly loved mother of Stephen Dennis of Lambeth. Special aunt to Becky Eagles (Robin) of Belleville. Also survived by several great nieces and nephews. Shirley will be greatly missed by her many friends in the local music scene. She loved music, especially jazz and was an avid Blue Jays fan. A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, June 17, 2014 at 2pm at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens, 2001 Dundas Street East, London (Please meet at cemetery office, located on the east side of the cemetery). Peacefully surrounded by her family at St. Joseph’s Hospice, London, on Monday, June 9, 2014, Pearla Taylor in her 89th year. Cherished aunt of Marie Woodhouse (Vince) of Keswick, Jean Gower and Sharon Gower both of Brampton. Beloved great-aunt of Elizabeth Marshall (Rob), Naomi Woodhouse (Ryan Walker), and Anna Woodhouse and by her great-great nieces and nephews. Also missed by her cousins. Pearla worked for Bell Canada (Toronto and London) for 37 years. The family would like to thank the staff and volunteers at St. Joseph’s Hospice for their love and compassion. Dear mother of Barbara Stone and her husband Gary and Bev Jackson and her husband John all of London. Much loved Nana of five grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren and one great -great- grandchild. Predeceased by her son Douglas and three brothers and four sisters.

Peacefully, with the quiet dignity he possessed throughout his illness and with his daughter Lianne by his side. Lover of jazz, public speaker extraordinaire with a dry sense of humour that could outwit anyone. Never without his camera he travelled the world with the love of his life and happily shared the adventures with anyone who had time to watch and listen. A true entrepreneur he served the public in London well over the years at the 2×4 Restaurant, Holt Powell Mens Wear and ABCO Copy Cat Printing. A practical joker who once decided to skip the prep for the hunt and placed all the easter eggs on the ceiling fan, simply turning it on when we came down for breakfast. A creative renovator who refashioned our home to open concept long before it became the norm. Fashion came easy to Dad but not so easy on the eyes of others. Yellow, green or red pants with suspenders or an electric blue sequin jacket and the ever present bow tie, he was always dressed to impress.
