Passed away peacefully on Monday, March 2, 2015 at University Hospital in her 85th year.Beloved wife of the late Thomas Rowlands. Loving mother of Elaine (Jim) Wake, and Patricia (Keith) Weatherby. Predeceased by her son Robert J Rowlands.Cherished Grandma of James, Jonathan , Ruth and Tammy. Survived by her brother John K Fountain. Friends will be received by the family on Thursday March 5, 2015 at A. Millard George Funeral Home, 60 Ridout Street South, London , from 2-4pm & 6-8pm. Funeral service will be held at Open Door Christian Fellowship, 940 Dundas Street, London on Friday, March 6 at 11am. Interment at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens to follow. West, Helen Kathleen….
Helen Kathleen West (nee Lockridge) passed away on Saturday, February 28, 2015. Her intellect, common sense, sense of humour and abundance of loving stayed with her throughout a very difficult and lengthy period of ill health. Relatives and friends were a great help in maintaining her disposition in spite of what she was enduring. Helen was very accomplished in many areas: notably motherhood, witness sons Mike and Paul; community involvement for which shewas named to the Wingham Sport Wall of Fame for her efforts in getting the first swimming pool; and establishing and supervising the Lockridge Midget Hockey Tournament in honour of her father, Walter. Her employment record included CKNX Wingham where she and husband Roger met. Their love of travel started with the 1972 Hockey series in Moscow and saw family visits in Europe and throughout North America. Her kind heart and warmest smile will always be missed. A very proud Grandmother, Helen is survived by her husband Roger West, her sons Michael and Donna Fleury (Kamloops) and Paul and Susan Fleury (London); a number of cherished grandchildren and great-grandchildren and many supportive relatives. Cremation has taken place. Helen’s Life will be celebrated on Saturday, March 14th from 2-5pm in the Reception Centre at the A. Millard George Funeral Home, 60 Ridout Street South, London on the southeast side of the parking lot. Peacefully at Victoria Hospital, London, on February 27, 2015, Leslie Cain in his 94th year. Beloved husband of the late Rose Cain for 52 years. Cherished father of John Cain and his wife Janet of England and Leslie Cain and his wife Gayle of Minnesota. Proud grandfather of Lauren, Rhiannon and Leslie “Adam” Cain. Dear brother of Emily, George, David, Gladys, Doris, Robert, Winnifred and Mary Ann Beatrice “Mabs”. He will be lovingly remembered by many nieces and nephews and especially by his niece Lesley. Leslie joined the Navy at 17 years of age on an armed merchant cruiser during World War 11 and served and saw action throughout World War 11. Cremation has taken place. There will be no service. Robert “Bob” Douglas Morrison, beloved husband of Maxalea for 51 years, passed away at home on Monday, February 23, 2015, at the age of 77.
Cherished father of Shelly, Kimberly and Rob. Doting Papa of Adriene, Brittany, Andrew, Kayla, Mitchell, Grant, Shea and Max. Adored great grandfather of Kaiden.
Dear brother of Jim (Diane) Morrison. Son of Mabel Morrison (predeceased).
Survived by several nieces and nephews.
Bob was friends to many and loved by all.
Although he was born in Montreal, he grew up a star hockey player in Fredericton, New Brunswick, and then moved back to Quebec to play junior hockey for the Noranda Copper Kings. After he moved to London, he played for numerous junior and senior teams. He was a fixture in the East London Manufacturers Hockey League in the 1970s, dominating the blue line on Saturday afternoons at the old London Gardens.
Bob was a steam and pipe fitter for over 40 years and worked on significant industrial projects around Southwestern Ontario. He retired from Beta Foods in 2002.No visitation or service is planned. Much loved mother of Elizabeth “Bette” Macaulay, Gwen Laskey , Ken Macaulay (Cathy), Madeline Macaulay and Jeanne Poole (Mark). Proud grandmother of Louise (Tidi), David (Shirley), Sandra (Peter), Steven (Jill), Jody (Scott), Rob (Kim), Laura (Craig), Sarah (Darryl), Adrienne (Jay), Peter and Heather (Scott) and dearly loved by her eleven great-grandchildren. Edith will be missed by her sister Lily Bishop.
