Suddenly after a long courageous battle, Jennifer passed away at Victoria Hospital on Friday May 15, 2015, in her 57th year. Beloved wife of Brian for 27 years. Loving mother of Renée, Michelle, Christopher, and Brianna . Cherished Gramma of Rysen. Survived by siblings, Rosemary (Drew), Tom (Nancy), several nieces and nephews and honorary family member Denise. Jennifer retired after working over 35 years at Via Rail and will be missed by her many coworkers and friends. Due to family health issues, please no perfumes or colognes. Loving father of Debbie Duplan and her husband Gord and Eleanor Kelly and her husband Tim all of London. Cherished grandad of Matthew, Lauren and Sarah Duplan and Michael and Shannon Kelly. Dear brother of Pat Cheverie and Richard Rake and his wife Carole. Dearly missed by his nieces and nephews. Don was a member of St. James Westminster Anglican Church, Optimist International and Bell Pioneers. He was an avid boater; he had a love for music, toy trains, travel and especially his grandchildren. Cremation has taken place. Predeceased by his brother Bob Brooks and his sister Betty Paul. A special Grandpa “Bucka” of Lauren and Dayna, Jodie and Danielle, Kimberly and Lori and his great-granddaughter Beatrice “Bea”. Missed by his in-laws and by his many nieces and nephews. Clare will be missed by his special friend Jeanne. On the most beautiful day of the year, the most beautiful person we knew passed away peacefully, Thursday, May 7, 2015, surrounded by her loved ones at the age of 57 at St. Joseph’s Hospice, London. She leaves precious memories behind for her loving partner Malcolm Harrison, her children whom she was so proud of; Kelly Castellani (Carlo) and Curtis Livingstone (Kristin), her beautiful grandchildren that she adored; Hunter, Ryder, Santino, Alessandro and Isabella, her best friend and loving sister Paula Lamothe (Ron), her nieces and nephews who she treated as her own children, Karla Friesen (Jude), Kyle Kane (Cara), Renée Hawkins (Evan), Robert Lamothe (Lindsay) and Paul Lamothe (Amber) and her great nieces Jada and Pacey. She is now in the company of and reunited with her beloved parents Sylvia (2006) and Naldo (2008) and her dear sister Cheryl (2014, Drew 2001). Patti was the life of the party with a great sense of humour and a true zest for life. She faced this past year with courage and fought a good fight until the end. Kenneth “Ken” Lane
LANE, Kenneth “Ken” 1922 – 2015….
Surrounded by his loving family at his home, on Wednesday, May 6 2015, Ken passed away in his 93rd year. Beloved husband of Betty (Margaret Elizabeth Rothnie) for over 69 years, and dear father of Daniel Lane and his wife Judy (London) and Kerry Shellard (England). Loved by his grandchildren, Katie, Krista (Matt), Daniel and Craig. Predeceased by his brothers Frank and Richard, and his son-in-law Robert Shellard. Born in London, Ontario to parents Lily and Dick Lane, Ken’s passion was playing the trumpet, and during his time in the Royal Canadian Navy band in Shelbourne, NS he met his best friend and wife Betty. They returned to London, Ont. to raise their two children. Taking a job in the car shops with the Canadian National Railway, he became an artful carpenter and later built most of the home they lived in for over 60 years. He joined the London Free Press in 1960 where he stayed until retirement. Ken continued to play the trumpet in dancehalls across Ontario until his seventies, including the Stork Club in Port Stanley, Wonderland and the 401, and was first trumpet in the Johnny Downs Orchestra for many years. He was known for his humor, devotion to his family and kept us laughing even in his last days. We will miss him very much. A heartfelt thank you to the VON palliative care team, Dr. J MacLean and the CCAC for all their support, compassion and care. At Ken’s request cremation has taken place, with no visitation or formal funeral.
