Robert Mervyn Linton, 89, of Grand Bend passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 17, 2018 at Victoria Hospital, London. Beloved husband of Dorothy (nee McCallum) and father of Craig (Margaret) and Robbie. Loving grandfather of Ella and Nora. Survived by sister Margaret Carter (John) and predeceased by brother David (Shirley). Fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at a later date. STEWART, William “Bill” …
At home, with the rising of the sun, Bill took his final breath peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Monday, July 16, 2018 at the age of 75. Beloved husband of Margaret Anne (Nee Bauchope) Stewart. Loving father of Catriona Rawski (John) and Caroline Holland (Brent). Dear grandfather of Olivia and Cameron. Predeceased by his sisters Evelyn and Sheila and his niece Carol. Bill will also be missed by many other family and friends. Cremation has taken place. BURCH, Ronald “Ron” ….
After a short battle, on Saturday, July 14, 2018, Ron Burch passed away in his 68th year. Beloved husband of Deb Burch for 46 years. Dear father of Gary and Dan. Cherished Poppy of Aronica, Kayla, Gunnar, Braiden and Daniel. And great-grandfather of Dakota. Brother of Harry Burch (Darla) and Dona McGregor (late Wayne) and brother-in-law of Brenda Newby and Wayne (Candy) Barker. Predeceased by his sister Marlene. Ron retired from the City of London after 36 years of service. A special thank you is extended to the doctors and nurses of the 10th floor at University Hospital, London for their kindness and care. Friends are welcomed for visiting on Tuesday, July 17, 2018, from 7-9 pm at the A. Millard George Funeral Home, 60 Ridout Street South, London. JACKSON, Harold….

Harold Jackson of London passed peacefully on Wednesday, July 11, 2018, into the presence of his Lord in his 93rd year. Beloved husband of Greta (Deeves) Jackson for 70 years. Loving father of David Jackson and his wife Sheila and Cathy Penfound and her husband Kevin all of Mt. Brydges. Dear Papa of Ryan (Karissa), David (Vivienne), Jonathan (Bethany) and missed by his great-grandchildren Tyler, Kyran, Marlie, Samuel and Finley. Dear brother of Mary Strickland of London. Predeceased by his brothers Matthew, Herbert and Eric. Harold along with his wife Greta directed Forest Cliff Camp for many decades. His joy was to introduce children to his Saviour the Lord Jesus. MARLES, Barry….

Suddenly at home with his wife by his side on Tuesday, July 10, 2018, Barry Marles of London in his 66th year. Beloved husband of Wendy for 42 years. Loving father of Rob, Greg and his wife Alaina, and James and his wife Malisa. Adored by his granddaughters Lily, Samantha, Emma and Olivia. Will be dearly missed by his daughter-in-law Laura, his brother-in-law Gary and his wife Julia Howard, his niece Bri, and his many friends and neighbours. Barry “Mongo” Marles was a long-time radio producer, Scout leader and hobbyist. He was an avid camper and loved spending time with his family. A Celebration of Life visitation will take place on Sunday, July 22, 2018 from 2-4 pm at the A. Peacefully at Victoria Hospital on Monday, July 9, 2018, Elizabeth “Betty” Whittington of London, Ontario, in her 84th year. Beloved wife of the late Glenn (1990). Cherished mother of Debra and Frank Rastin of Belmont, Nancy and Rick Killby of St. Catharines, and Mary-Liz and Joe Whalls of London. Predeceased by her daughter Susan (2006). Special Grandma to 11 grandchildren and their spouses, and 3 great-grandchildren. Dear sister to Donna McRitchie, Patricia Noftle, and Ruth Demaiter. Predeceased by her sister Isabelle Flight and brother Lloyd Haskell. She will also be forever remembered and missed by her many nieces, nephews and friends. Betty worked for Bell Canada for over 40 years. Following her retirement, Betty enjoyed many years of playing bridge with her friends. CLARKE, Reverend Frances Mary …

On Thursday, July 5, 2018, Reverend Frances Mary Clarke “Fran” flew away to find her new place in the endless circle of love with family by her side. She is now with the Source of love, light and life, where she longed to be. Beloved daughter of the late Reverend John T. and Lily Clarke. Cherished sister of Margaret (John) Clark, Odeyne (George) Wodskou and Allison (Larry) McLaren and sister-in-law of Elaine Clarke. Predeceased by her brother Reverend Ewart Clarke (2009) and her sister Florence Clarke (2004). Remembered with love by dear friends Barbara Birk-Olsen and Brenda Stewart. Also survived by many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. Fran was designated as a deaconess in 1956 and served as director of Christian Education in Colborne St. United Church in Brantford, Port Nelson United Church in Burlington and Central United Church in Sarnia. After returning to university, she was ordained in 1977 and became part of the team ministry at Metropolitan United Church in London. Fran touched many hearts with her wisdom and gentle, generous nature. She was highly skilled with words and crafts. Her powerful prayers brought comfort and encouragement. She took great delight in designing amazing banners. Many newborn’s heads and older laps have been warmed by her knitting. Fran inspired with beautiful slide shows illustrating scriptures and hymns. One of her greatest joys came from transforming real egg shells into works of art which she delighted in giving away to family and friends. Friends will be received by the family on Thursday, August 16, 2018 one hour prior (10-11am) to the funeral service taking place at Metropolitan United Church, 468 Wellington Street, London, ON N6A 3P8 at 11 am. CARRUTHERS, Kay….

Peacefully on Saturday, June 30, 2018 at University Hospital, London, Catherine “Kay” Carruthers of Richmond Woods in her 94th year. Beloved wife of the late Charles “Bruce” Carruthers (2002). Loving mother of Susan, Lizbeth and Becky Carruthers, all of London. Cherished gramma of Lauren (Jeff), Josh (Kristin), Alex (Jordan) and great gammy of Carter and Rori. Sister-in-law of Ruth Butt. Predeceased by her siblings Margaret, Bill, and Elmer. Will be dearly missed by loved cousins, nieces and nephews. In 1980 mother began her career with Mary Kay Cosmetics which became a lifelong opportunity and in 1988 she debuted as a Sales Director. Among her many accomplishments, perhaps her most treasured gift was the ability to make everyone feel special. She loved Mary Kay and her wonderful MK family and truly personified the woman that their founder envisioned. As a longtime member of Metropolitan United Church mother worked with socially deprived children and began her sponsorship of third world children. In the late 60’s Metropolitan along with other churches helped to adjust families coming over from Vietnam. Mom was instrumental in settling a family of seven in their new environment. It was such a rewarding time for her. A lifelong member of the Garden Club, mom celebrated her 40^th anniversary with them in 2015. It was through her affiliation with the Garden Club and the Art Gallery that mother travelled to London, New York and Italy. The family would like to sincerely thank the multiple caregivers that provided great care to mom over the last couple of years. Cremation has taken place. Friends will be received by the family on Thursday, July 12, 2018 from 7-9 pm at the A. Millard George Funeral Home, 60 Ridout Street South, London. The memorial service will be held on Friday, July 13, 2018 at 1 pm in the funeral home chapel. Interment in Mount Pleasant Cemetery, London.
