Peacefully at McCormick Home in her 98th year on Tuesday, August 28, 2018. Anna will now rest peacefully with her late loving husband Edgar Upitis. Dear mother of Uldis Upitis and his wife Nancy of Calgary. Also loved by her grandchildren Geoffrey Upitis and his wife Dr. Kathryn Dundas of Calgary and Dr. Jennifer Upitis and her husband Scott Wambolt of Toronto. Great grandmother of Weston, Annalyse and Amelia Wambolt as well as Brock, Alexus, Trinity and Charlotte Jekill. Predeceased by her brother Arsenijs in 1952. Friends will be received by the family from 9:30 – 10:30 am on Saturday, September 1, 2018 at the A. Millard George Funeral Home, 60 Ridout Street South, London. It is with great sadness the family is announcing the unexpected but peaceful passing of Steven Agora on Tuesday, August 28, 2018 at Victoria Hospital, London at the age of 83. Beloved husband of Marian for 48 years. Loving father of Monica and Andrea and her husband Justin. Cherished Dedo (grandfather) of Isla. Much loved brother-in-law of Stefan and his wife Blazena, Anna and her husband Frantisek and Marta and her husband Michal and their families. Predeceased by his sister Elizabeth. Steven will be missed by his nieces, nephews, extended family and friends, and his especially dear friends Marta and Jan. Many thanks to the Doctors and staff at LHSC for their care and compassion, it was greatly appreciated. Friends will be received by the family on Friday, August 31, 2018 from 12-1 pm at the A. Peacefully at London Health Sciences Centre after a short illness, M. Joan McEllister in her 84th year, passed away on Wednesday, August 22, 2018. Beloved wife of Guy McEllister for 65 years. Loving mother of Gail Dewulf (Mike Reid) and Greg McEllister (Karen). Grandma of Michele Wolwowicz (Andrew), Lindsay McEllister (Jeff Carnahan) and Tracy McEllister (Kris Vanderheiden). Great-grandma of Madelyne Vanderheiden. Predeceased by her parents and sister Dorothy Salmon. At Joan’s request there will be no visitation and a private family service has been held. Ted’s only sibling, Joyce Olive Shack, passed away quietly at 6am this morning, August 16, 2018 at Queen’s Village Nursing Home, London. Joyce retired several years ago after a long career in nursing. Her career included Director of Nursing at several hospitals in U.S and Ontario. Joyce had close ties to her nursing school graduating class members and was a member of several nursing association committees. She was a published author of several books and nursing care manuals. She was an avid golfer and won a number of tournaments. Joyce was a retired board member of the Goderich Golf Club. She was an active member of her church choir in Goderich for many years. Joyce was a creative artist who also taught classes in paper tolle. She was a lover of Schnauzer dogs and always had one as her companion. Joyce enjoyed travelling and visited several countries around the world. Joyce was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba, March 10, 1934 and was in her 85th year of life when she passed. She leaves behind her brother Ted and his wife Laurel, as well as several cousins. A private family internment in Woodland Cemetery, London. Arrangements entrusted with A. Lulu passed away at Extendicare, London, on Wednesday, August 15, 2018 in her 95th year. She is survived by her sister, Lenore Hayman and many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. She was a member of the R.T.O. and R.W.T.O. and a dedicated teacher in London until retirement, artist, author and genealogist. Peacefully surrounded by his family after a courageous battle, Randy passed away on Thursday, August 9, 2018 at Victoria Hospital, London (age 60). Randy will be deeply missed by Debbie, Amanda (Tyler) and Kaitlin (Kody). He was the adored grandpa of Aubree, Nathan, Karson, Brielle, Jessa and Kayleigh. Randy is survived by his mother Olga, brothers Rick (Sue), Roger (Izabella), Ryan (Sylvia) and by Debbie’s family Norma, Nancy and Jeff (Lianne) and sister-in-law Kim. He is also survived by his nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his father Stan, brothers Ron and Terry, sister Lori, nephew Chad and his father-in-law Bill. The family would like to express their deep gratitude to Dr. George Kim, VON Nurses and PSW’s for their compassionate care. Proud great grandmother of Alexander, Zachary, Charlotte and Laura. Dear sister of Stella Larocque and Mike Hunchurick and sister-in-law of Elaine Chalmers, all of London. Peacefully, at Glendale Crossing, London, on Monday, August 6, 2018, Ann Scott passed away in her 94th year. Beloved wife of the late William Elwynne Scott (1985). Dear mother of Ian Scott and his wife Maria Calleja. Cherished grandma of Aidan and Maya Scott of London and Lisa Kenny (Ronnie) of Ottawa and Caroline Jones (Kip) of Calgary. Dear sister of Donald Green of Montreal and sister-in-law of Ruth Green of Toronto. Aunt of Gillian Green (Yves) and Colin Green (Clementina), great aunt to Ethan and Pascale. Ann will be missed by Mia and Gode Calleja and her lifelong friends Betty Bartlett, Faye Campbell, Eleanor Aass and Roseanne Farell of Ottawa. Predeceased by her brother James Green and step-daughters Elizabeth Kenny and Mary-Margaret Donley. Ann was a high school teacher with the Ottawa and Carleton Boards of Education and taught history and phys-ed at South Carleton, Commerce and Ridgemont. Ann was a longtime volunteer at the Manotick Public Library, the Rideau Township Senior’s Centre (Miller’s Oven) and The Rideau Historical Society. Ann was a member of the Ottawa Hunt and Golf Club for many years, and as well as being an avid golfer, she loved skiing, curling and bridge. The family wishes to extend a special thank you to the staff at Glendale Crossing, McCormick Home and Ester Gilchrist for their care and compassion over the past few years.
A private family service will be held after cremation and a Celebration of Ann’s life will be held at a date to be announced.
