Obituary
In Loving Memory of Wayne McLachlan
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Wayne McLachlan, who left us on July 26, 2024, at the age of 77. Wayne was the beloved husband of Norma, father to Jeff (Carrie) and Laura (Kevin), grandfather to Gwenyth, Addisyn, Isobel, Preston, Nash and also Olivia and Ethan. He was also a beloved friend whose presence enriched so many lives in countless ways; he generously nurtured everything from plants to people.
Wayne’s passion for gardening was a defining feature of his life. His garden was not merely a collection of plants but a vibrant canvas where his artistic soul flourished. With a meticulous eye and a gentle touch, Wayne transformed his garden into a sanctuary of beauty and tranquility, a reflection of his deep connection to nature. An exceptionally gifted artist, Wayne expressed his creativity through various mediums. His paintings captured the essence of his surroundings, turning everyday moments into extraordinary works of art. His artistic spirit was matched by his love for the natural world, where he found endless inspiration. A true enthusiast of the festive season, Wayne had a magical touch when it came to Christmas decorations. His home transformed into a winter wonderland each year, with twinkling lights, sparkling ornaments, and festive cheer that delighted family, friends, and neighbors alike. His extraordinary ability to create such enchanting displays was a reflection of his joyful and generous spirit. Wayne also had a sweet tooth and found great pleasure in sharing his favorite desserts with those he loved. His enthusiasm for desserts was more than a taste preference; it was a way of spreading happiness and creating cherished moments with family and friends.
Wayne McLachlan’s legacy is one of artistic brilliance, boundless love for nature, and unwavering kindness. He is survived by his adoring family, who will remember him with deep affection and gratitude. The family will hold a garden reception on Friday, August 2nd, 2024 from 2:00 – 5:00 pm at 14448 Nine Mile Road, Ilderton.
Wayne’s spirit will forever live on through the vibrant colours of his garden as well as many others, the beautiful creations he left behind, and the loving memories he has imparted to all who knew him. He will be deeply missed.

Dear Norma, Jeff, Laura and families.
We were so sad to hear of Wayne’s passing last night. His obituary is the prefect tribute to the wonderful boss and forever friend.
I was blessed to be part of the Wayne’s Flower Team at the start of my floral career. I will always be grateful for all the tricks of the trade that he shared and taught me. Wayne, for sure deserved FULL MARKS for his style and creative flare. Especially when creating Christmas displays , whether it was in-store or in a clients home. His years of hard work and dedication to the holiday home tour will not be forgotten, as many of his clients could not wait to see what Wayne’s Flowers would be showing each year.
We are blessed to have many of Wayne’s ideas in our garden. When his perennials bloom, we will think of this wonderful gentleman that we were so blessed to have crossed along the garden path.

We are just heartbroken to hear that our dear friend Wayne has passed away. A true gentleman. We will miss him so much. Our deepest sympathies to his wonderful family.
Wayne had many and varied creative qualities. We had a mutual love and appreciation of flowers and nature. If I mentioned a craft I was working on, I would soon find a bag of perfect pinecones or pieces of driftwood on my doorstep. There are few people who can talk enthusiastically and knowledgeably about fossils, rocks, unusual wood, and of course, flowers. I will miss him dearly.
Our sincere condolences to Norma, Jeff, Laura & their families.
