MCCARTHY, Vince….
Peacefully at University Hospital, London, on Thursday, July 30, 2026, Vincent McCarthy passed away in his 95th year. Beloved husband of the late Joan (Reid) McCarthy (2018). Loving father of Shelley-Anne O’Rourke (Neil Morris) of London, John McCarthy of Alfred, Maine, Pam McConnell (Sean) of St. Thomas and chosen daughter to Mary-Jane Ford. Cherished granddad of Bridget (Michael), Casey (Michelle), Lacey (Rachel), Jesse-Raymond and great-granddad Kason, Nick, Declan, Blaine, Mason, Charlotte, Ashton, Lochlyn, Knox, Memphis. Special grandfather to Kristen, Erica, Aaron (Erin), Amy, Ainsley (Mike), Adam, Ashley and their families, Shanacee, Alexis (Steve), Nikki and great-grandfather to Londyn, Lakyn, Rhetter, Grayson. Dear uncle of Debbie (Chester), Bill (Heather), Greg, Andrew (Bobbi), and David (Eleanor). Predeceased by his sister Margaret Bond (Henry) and his brother Ted “Frederick” McCarthy (Edna). Vincent was member of the Atlantic Chief and Petty Officers Association, Canadian Tribal Association and the H.M.C.S. Haida Association. He proudly served on Haida during the Korean War 1952-1953. Vincent was a longtime employee at Coca-Cola. The family would like to thank the staff at University Hospital and Holy Trinity/St. Stephen’s Memorial Church for their care and compassion. Friends will be received by the family on Wednesday, August 5, 2026 from 2-4 and 7-9pm at the A. Millard George Funeral Home, 60 Ridout Street South, London. The funeral service will be held in the funeral home chapel on Thursday, August 6, 2026 at 1pm. Interment in Woodland Cemetery, London.
