Obituary
COSSAR, Robert “Robbie”…
Unexpectedly at Strathroy Middlesex General Hospital, Robbie Cossar passed away on Saturday, January 6, 2024, in his 63rd year. Beloved son of Elizabeth “Liz”, and the late James Cossar (2005). Dearly loved brother of John Cossar and Jane Cossar-Fischer and her husband Tim Fischer, and brother-in-law of Gary Murray. Predeceased by his sister Carol Murray (2020). Robbie was an adored uncle and cherished his relationships with his niece Katherine Fischer and Josh, and nephew Cheyne Fischer and Taylor.
Robbie was a remarkable individual whose passions and interests illuminated his vibrant personality. He was especially known for his love for Superman and his fascination with cars. His magnetic personality extended beyond his hobbies, as he possessed a genuine fondness for socializing and connecting with people from all walks of life. Rob enjoyed summers, holiday weekends and celebrations at the cottage in Barrow Bay. He relished spending time with his extended cottage family and the many adventures they shared. For the past 20 years Ilderton was home for Robbie. His warm and welcoming nature, big personality and hearty laugh will be sorely missed within his community. He deeply appreciated the support services that enabled him to thrive, and the family wishes to thank Crest Support Services for their many years of care. Robbie’s legacy is a testament to his genuine love for life and his dedication to making the world a more welcoming and caring place for all.
Cremation has taken place. Family and friends are welcome for visitation on Friday, January 19, 2024, from 2-4 and 6-8 pm at the A. Millard George Funeral Home, 60 Ridout Street South, London. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 20, 2024, at 11 am in the funeral home chapel. Future interment in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens, London.

Dear Cossar family. My name is Sheri Johnston (nee McMillen) and I lived next to your cottage at Barrow Bay as a kid and then across the lake. I have so many found memories of Robbie throughout our summers there. He and my late brother Dean shared their love of cars (and boats) and he often came around to our house for a chat or a trip to Luxtons bakery. He was quite a rower across that channel!
Robbie was always patient and kind and the life of the party. I am very happy to see that he lived his life that way.
I am so sad this has happened. I now live in Australia so cannot be there but my thoughts are with you. Your tribute made me smile and remember some lovely times. Thank you for sharing this with all of us. My Mom and I just had a lovely time remembering him – some people just have an impact on you and Robbie was one of them.
