HART, Peter Charles…

October 29, 1938 – August 28, 2026

Peter Hart died with his family at his side at Dearness Home, London on Friday, August 28, 2026 in his 88th year.

Beloved husband of Pauline (nee Cloutier) for nearly 62 years. Dear dad of Tim Hart (Denise Weaver), Janet Hart (John Billingsley) and Matt Hart (Amy). Loving grandfather and step-grandfather of Carlie, Caitlin (Riley), Jeff, Mitch (Natalia), Danielle, and Renee. Adored great-grandfather of Ellodie. Brother of Doug Hart (Linda Wenglowski) and brother-in-law of Louise (Bill) Thompson. Predeceased by his brother David, sister-in-law Claire Hart, and his parents Jack and Mary. Peter will also be deeply missed by his nieces, nephews and their families.

Peter was always athletic and fiercely competitive, bringing determination to everything he did. He graduated from the University of Guelph and went on to build a hardworking and successful career in agriculture and banking before eventually running his own business. Peter was a devoted family man who was incredibly proud of his children and grandchildren. He was an avid reader and birdwatcher and he loved a good conversation and genuinely enjoyed connecting with those around him. Peter faced a long battle with MS, which eventually took away his mobility. Although he could no longer play, his love of sports remained, and he was always happy to talk and watch just about any sport. Through it all, Peter maintained the determination and strength that had defined him throughout his life.

The family wishes to extend a warm thank you to the care team at Dearness for their kind and compassionate care over the last two years. In memory of Peter, donations may be made to MS Canada and would be greatly appreciated by the family. A Celebration of Life will be held to honour Peter on Sunday, October 25, 2026 1:00 pm – 4:00 pm at Lambeth Legion, 7097 Kilbourne Road, London.
