Obituary
OHLER, Michael
(1941 – 2025)
Peacefully on Saturday, September 20, 2025, at Victoria Hospital, London, Ontario, Michael passed away in his 85th year. Loving husband and soulmate of Susan for 62 years. Beloved father of Michael (Natasha). Cherished Poppa of Rhiannon and Matthew. Loving brother of Rosina Wolf and brother-in-law of Mike Biro (Chantal Pierssens) and David Biro. Uncle to Erika Csoff, Rachel Biro, Daniel Biro, Ashly Clark and Grace Lochhead. Also survived by many cousins in Canada and the U.S., as well as several great nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents George and Maria Ohler, his brother Georg Ohler, brother-in-law George Wolf (Sr) and Nephew George Wolf (Jr) (Anna Marie Wolf).
Michael was born in Tschippendorf (now Cepari), Romania and came to Canada with his family when he was 12 years old, eventually settling in Tillsonburg, Ontario. Michael enjoyed watching sports and was a long-time season ticket holder of the London Knights hockey club. In his early years he enjoyed camping and travelling with his family to many places including Hawaii, Florida, Las Vegas, Michigan, the Caribbean, and trips to Western Canada. Michael was a valued and loyal employee of Blackwood Hodge Equipment Limited for 29 years as licenced mechanic for heavy equipment and performed various executive roles in Sales and Management. Later he worked several years for (and retired from) Rexall Pharmacy as a delivery driver.
Cremation has taken place. A celebration of Michael’s life will be held at the A. Millard George Reception Centre, 60 Ridout Street South, London on Sunday, November 23, 2025 from 1:00 – 3:00 pm.
For many years Michael (and Susan) enjoyed their cats. As an expression of sympathy, donations in memory of Michael may be made to Humane Society London & Middlesex or an animal rescue of your choice.

Very sad to hear about my cousin. Sending condolences to the family.
I was deeply saddened to learn of Mike’s passing. He was such and kind and compassionate person. I always enjoyed our conversations and appreciated his broad and deep understanding on so many subjects. Mike also took a great interest in the people with whom he was conversing. The world has been a much richer place as a result of his presence.
So sorry for your loss. Mike and Sue were our lovely next door neighbours for many years. Mike was a sweet man. All our love.
Mike, Natasha, Rhiannon and Matthew, so sorry for your loss. Our condolences.
