Obituary
PEDLIHAM, Maureen
Passed away peacefully on Friday, January 10, 2025, at Victoria Hospital, London in her 81st year. Beloved wife of the late Harry Pedliham (2022) for 61 years. Loving mother of David, Helen Raftery, and Dory (William Chisholm) Lightfoot. Cherished grandmother of Julie McGilvray, Harrison Raftery, Richard Raftery, Hilary Lightfoot and Evelyn Raftery. Dear sister of Christine Pedliham and her brother-in-law Jack Pedliham and wife Chris. She will be lovingly remembered by many extended family and friends.
Maureen was a woman of remarkable strength and conviction, unafraid to speak her mind and stand up for what she believed in. She will be remembered for her quick wit, sense of humour and her many artistic and creative talents. Her proudest achievement was her family with a special spot in her heart for her grandchildren.
Cremation has taken place. Family and friends are welcomed for visiting on Thursday, January 16, 2025, from 11:30 am – 12:15 pm, with a service following in the funeral home chapel at 12:30 pm. Online condolences, memories and photographs shared at www.amgfh.com

My sincerest condolences on the loss of Maureen. She was an exceptional woman.
Sincerest condolences to Harrison, Caitlin, and their loved ones. Your grandmother sounds like she was a remarkable woman. She will greatly missed.
Long-time co-worker at the London Public Library, remembering union meetings, the glue-pot in her book-repair shop at the LPL, and Christmas parties with Maureen and Harry.
Both of them are gone now, and sorely missed by her dear family and friends. May the memories be comforting.
Such sorrowful news to read today. Maureen was an absolute legend at the London Public Library and I always respected and admired her no-nonsense point of view. She was also absolutely hilarious, with a rapid-fire wit as well as the best legs I’ve ever seen. The picture you’ve chosen here is wonderful. I am so, so sorry to hear of your loss and send my heartfelt condolences.
(I am Aaron’s mum, a good friend of Harrison).
So sorry to hear this sad news, I remember Auntie Maureen very fondly , she was warm, kind and good fun, we shared some really good times along with Uncle Harry. My thoughts are with you all. Sending much love
I have a lot of very fond memories of my sister-in-law Maureen. She came into my life when i was just a little kid, sometime in the early 1960s, as my big brother’s girl friend and they soon became ‘Uncle Harry & Aunty Maureen’ – me being so much younger. I can remember many happy times when we were one big happy family and she supported me when my own mum passed away. I always had a soft spot for Maureen, she was a joy to be around and had a great sense humour – she also made a great roast dinner! She loved my brother Harry to the end of the universe and I will always miss them . Sending our love to the whole family. Jack and Chrissie xx
