Larry Picket passed away peacefully at Victoria Hospital, London, on Tuesday, September 1, 2026 in his 80th year.
Beloved husband of Mary Picket. Cherished father of Lisa Marie Picket (Daniele Aschero) and Laurie Ann Robinson (Jeffrey). Adored grandfather of Emery, Griffin and Blake. Dear brother of Verna Bird (the late George) and Doris Rigg (Allan). Will be missed by his nieces, nephews and extended family. Predeceased by his parents Vernon and Dorothy.
Larry was raised on a dairy farm and took great pride in his work there for decades. In his later years, he was a truck driver for the Co-op in Dundalk and Markdale. He showed Holsteins at fairs and was a competitor in plowing matches. He loved fishing for pickerel and salmon during his down time, and enjoyed playing euchre.
Cremation has taken place and in following Larry’s wishes, no services will be held. His family will celebrate his life by scattering his ashes on one of his favourite lakes at a later date.
The Picket family wishes to extend a warm thank you to the staff at both St. Joseph’s and Victoria Hospitals for the incredible and thoughtful care provided.
In Larry’s memory and in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart Failure Clinic at St. Joseph’s Hospital, or to the ICU at Victoria Hospital.

I’m so sorry to hear of Larry’s passing. He was such a kind sole. I remember spending a week at the dairy farm working on a girl guide badge milking cows with Mary and Larry. I quickly turned and lost my balance and fell in the manure trough, but on the way down I was kicked in the head by the cow. It gave Larry a big scare at the time but later became a funny story we could laugh about. Larry and his family spent many hours, days, months and years with my family at plowing matches, farm shows, fairs and evening socials. I do recall having a wonderful vacation with the Picket family. It was always a great time when the Picket and Jones family got together. It’s these memories that we need to recall and smile about. Rest in peace Larry and take care to the rest of the family.
