We offer our deepest condolences, sympathies, and love to Ilona’s extended family, friends, and colleagues on Ilona’s passing. Illona was an absolute delight and loyal friend to the Don Wright Faculty of Music community. Her stalwart support and enthusiasm for our opera productions and musical events in the London community was very inspiring and deeply appreciated, and she will be greatly missed by all of us. But we also rejoice and celebrate in the legacy of joy and love for music that Illona brought to all of us, and many fond and beautiful memories of her presence in our community. She will remain a constant inspiration and source of strength in our hearts and thoughts.
Sending condolences to Ilona’s family. Ilona was such a warm and energetic woman who had stories to tell that were informative and insightful. As a former dean of the Faculty of Music at Western I consistently enjoyed meeting with her and engaging at such interesting levels. She was a force and will be missed by everyone who knew her. A life well lived–rich and purposeful by someone who cared.
On behalf of Encore the Concert Band I would like to offer sincere condolences to Ilona’s family and friends. Ilona was a faithful attendee and supporter at all of our concerts for years. We also had a personal connection as she was the accountant for a family construction firm for years. She would make a point of seeking me out to chat at every concert. Such an amazing lady to be attending our concerts at the age of 98. She will be missed.
Ilona,my dearest friend who brought so much joy to all the people she knew.
I had the privilege to join her to many music concerts which was her love…
Her wonderful stories well told, great memories I will cherish forever,
My deepest condolences to her family and friends
Rest in peace my friend..
You will be missed!
Love
Regina and family
We would like to extend our deepest condolences to Ilona’s family on the occasion of her passing. We will always treasure the memories of our various get-togethers to celebrate Christmas, Easter, Ilona’s birthday and other occasions. For her 98th birthday, she baked four cakes by herself!
Her infectious energy, fondness for conversation, amazing ability to recall different events, storytelling abilities and sharp wit will be missed. Upon being asked if she would like to have sugar with her tea, Ilona would always reply “No, thank you! I am sweet enough”. Andrew will always fondly remember Ilona waiting in the doorway of her house for the daily mail delivery and chat about daily events.
You will be missed!

Condolences to the family and all her friends. Ilona had the ability to accumulate friends and became part of many families. She was dearly loved and her heart was big, appreciative and very giving. Fridays with Ilona was always full of weekly updates and stories and history lessons. Loved taking her to the opera’s and music that filled her soul and mine.
There was always tea, cookies or cake.
I will still have Friday morning tea with you in my heart. Thank you for letting me into your story, your history and your heart. I will
miss you.
