Obituary
CARTER, Etwyn “Pat”……
Peacefully at her home, surrounded by family on Friday, October 9, 2026, Pat Carter went to be with The Lord at the age of 76.
Proud mother of Gary Carter (Stephany), Adrian Carter (Ingrid) and Andrea Carter. Loving grandma of Noah, Maxwell, Nigel, and Nathan. Beloved sister of Marcia Merritt and Carl Carter. Dearly missed by her many nieces and nephews. Predeceased her siblings Coswald Downes and Esther Carter-Scott.
She will be remembered for her kind and generous nature, always willing to give of herself and lend a helping hand to those around her. Her faith was an important part of her life and provided her with strength and guidance throughout the years. Pat cherished her family and treasured the time they spent together. She especially adored her grandchildren, who brought her tremendous joy and held a very special place in her heart. Her kindness, generosity, devotion to her faith, and deep love for her family will be fondly remembered by all who knew and loved her.
The family would like to thank the homecare medical staff and the Elders of the Church, for all the support, care and compassion provided.
Friends will be received by the family on Saturday, October 31, 2026 from 4 – 7pm, at the A. Millard George Funeral Home, 60 Ridout Street South, London. The funeral service will be held on Sunday, November 1, 2026 at 11 am (Visitation from 10-11am) at the London Seventh-day Adventist Church, 805 Shelborne Street, London ON N5Z 5C6.

Oh my goodness. I was just thinking of Pat the other day. She was always a feisty treat to see when we worked together in the Obstetrical care unit at Vic. She had a no nonsense attitude and loved to talk about her grandsons. I am thinking about all of you. Take good care
My condolences to Sister Pat’s family. Pat was such a loving, kind sister of Christ and I looked forward to seeing her at church on Saturdays when I attended the South church. Pat will be missed deeply!

This world is indeed not our home! Thank you for teaching your “grandchild” such a beautiful song. May Adrian and all other family members and grandchildren find peace and comfort in your absence. You were a true servant of God; may He remember your faithful labour in His vineyard. Thank you for all you did for me. I hope to see you on that glorious resurrection morning. Rest peacefully, dear Grandma, until we meet again at the feet of Jesus. ❤️🕊️
Pat, you are such a beautiful soul! You are greatly missed by many! RIP. My condolences!
I met Pat at LHSC in 2002 and quickly loved her! She was always working hard and smiling! Pat was truly such a nice person and I missed her when I left the hospital many years later. Thinking of her family during this sad time 💔
To Gary, Adrian and Andrea. The Lost of your Dearly Beloved Mother Sister Pat from Life unto Death is very Devastating. Death is the Enemy and Robbed us of Our Loved Ones. I Know if you could have Saved your Mother you would have…But Death is inevitable. Praying that God will grant you, your Children and other Family Members Comfort, Strength and Inner Peace that surpasses all Human Understanding. Be Assured that your Mother had a Personal Relationship with Jesus.🙏🏽❤️🙏🏽
Condolences to the Carter family. Pat and I played netball together for many years… she was always recruiting new people to play and enjoyed teaching them the rules of the game. We had many laughs along the way, you will be missed Pat.
Please accept my deepest sympathy to the family.

I believe Ms Pat was a great general for The Lord. It was an honour to serve The Lord with her. I always said she had the strength of an Ox.
My condolence and love to the family.
To my siblings Gary, Adrian, Andrea,
I’m so sorry for the loss of your mom, especially so suddenly, before you even had a chance to process her illness. May God grant you peace and comfort during this difficult time.
I think back to when I first met Etwyn, 1973. She was so tough and strong, always seeming to be in charge, but beneath that exterior was a tender heart. I remember seeing her cry as she shared some of the hurtful experiences she had endured. My heart ached for her.
As children, Greg and I would sneak over to her house after school, and she would feed us, insisting, “Eat it all up; we don’t waste food in this house!” 😂 We loved her boxed Rice-a-Roni, which our mother never made for us. Then we’d go home and eat the supper our mother had prepared!
But it wasn’t about the food—we were well fed at home and lacked nothing. We went because we loved her energy and the way she showered us with love, even while playing the tough Sergeant. That love continued into adulthood, as she offered words of encouragement and support.
After she accepted Christ and was baptized, she never looked back. She was truly on fire for God!
Etwyn will be deeply missed. My heartfelt condolences to you all.
I Called you Mom, and you were a mom in deed. It is Sad you left early but you lived Jesus Christ ways through out your life. I see you as a straight forward and a kind being also a great believer in Jesus’s and resurrection. Continue to rest in the Lord hoping to see you on resurrection day. You are a faithful servant mom. Rest in Power!
I was just thinking of Pat the other day. I am very saddened to hear of her passing. Pat was one of the first people I met at Vic and we remained close for 41 years. Pat trained me in several areas including OBCU. Always a pleasure to see her smiling face and hear her singing. She will be missed.
My condolences to Gary , Adrian, and Andrea on the passing of your Mom.May God strengthen and comfort you all at this difficult time. May she rest in peace.GOD BLESS
